Marignolle Relais & Charme - Residenza d'Epoca

For a Sawdays recommended property I had high hopes and was quite disappointed. This property commanded a high price for a clean tidy room with clean fluffy towels and generally good housekeeping, but that was about it. If you wanted complimentary bottled water, there wasn't any - 4 euros a bottle, 0.50 cents in town. Breakfast was so disappointing - Continental choice only unless you wanted to pay for a plate of scrambled eggs or a plain omelet 8 Euros!! Only Gluten Free offered was some dry packeted bread and biscuits even though they knew I was GF so had to make do with yoghurt and fruit only and a tepid boiled egg. Plenty of GF croissant choices in Florence herself so basically individual needs were not met. Instructions for breakfast were not adhered to, ever, so a waste of paper and waste of time completing. Hosts took no effort to actually get to know what we liked to do; no day trips were offered to us or places of interest outlined - we just got on with it ourselves. They didn't even know what room we were in, even though we stayed 7 nights! Nice to have a pool but hours were limited to 8-8 which is hard when you're out all day; relaxation area was never pointed out to us and we couldn't find it but we had to be 'invited' anyway. Rooms were not well insulated and we could hear guests at all hours coming and going; flushed toilets, conversations and footsteps well into the early hours which was frustrating for an expensive room. So sadly Sawdays recommendation has let us down for the first time.

We enjoyed a private cooking class with Sylvia. It was amazing, we prepared a 3 course meal, enjoyed a local bottle of wine and she gave us the recipes so we can make them when we get home. She answered all of our questions, and gave us great information about the local area.

Lovely experience overall. A stones throw from Florence but a world away, felt very rural. Rooms delightfully traditional. Location good for airport and city (although probably need a car). Pool was so relaxing. Lounge area to relax in was very pleasant. Breakfast a bit lacking - needs fresh coffee, increased choice and more attentive waiting staff, this would make a big difference. Lunch and dinner were very nice indeed super convenient but a bit on the pricey side compared to nearby restaurants. That said we really enjoyed our stay.

We stayed 5 nights at Marignolle and had a great family stay. Traveling with our 2 kids and a grandparent required unique accomodation and Marignolle was perfect for us. Separate rooms in a quiant setting, a wonderful breakfast on-site, and staff all wonderfully friendly and helpful. One family member was sick and so they were especially kind to make sure she was ok during our stay. From getting taxis, to recommendations in town, to a wonderful cooking class across the courtyard - it was a perfect place to be near all that Florence and Tuscanny has to offer, while still a quiet family setting. The owners were also very easy to correspond with even before we arrived with many helpful email exchanges. We highly recommend Marignolle!

Our week-long stay at the Marignolle villa was absolutely wonderful and so memorable. We were a rather large group of first cousins traveling in Italy together and had the entire main house during our stay. The accommodations are so lovely and clean and met all of our needs. I can't say enough about Lorenzo and his staff. We had originally booked to go there in 2021 and had to postpone until 2022 and Lorenzo moved our reservation and kept in touch the entire time. While we were there, they were all so accommodating. They literally made everything we asked for happen, even if it was a last-minute request. Plus, Lorenzo planned and booked two day-trips for us that included visiting other Tuscan towns and enjoying wine tastings at two wineries. Those days were so great and we were able to get to towns that we probably would not have otherwise had the inkling or chance to go to. He made all of the arrangements for those days. He also planned a couple of dinners for our group at the villa and chose wines to pair with those dinners. He even made sure we got back and forth into Florence city center during a taxi strike! Our stay there was spectacular and we had such a memorable experience there. Staying in Florence city center is great because you are in the middle of everything and can walk to many venues. However, being just outside of the city has its advantages as well. The countryside is so quiet and peaceful, so this time it was nice to be able to get out of the crowds and noise. I would highly recommend Marignolle Relais & Charme, especially for groups. Beautiful accommodations, breathtaking landscape and scenery, and 5-star service make it a winner!!

We stayed at this place in July 2022 as a family of 4. The place is very beautiful full of details in each corner. Quiet and peaceful. We booked this place expecting it was the typical Italian agroturismo where you get to chat with the family and get introduced to Italian gastronomy and culture. Unfortunately it’s not like this. You don’t meet the staff, nobody shows you the place and you are at your own all the time. With only 10 rooms they could be more dedicated to their customers. I asked at the reception for a trip to a winery but they couldn’t help much. Even they said they can book wine testing tour. They couldn’t find a tour for us. You cannot stay here if you don’t have a car. It’s not possible to walk from and to the place. Only by car. They have a restaurant but only if you book in advance. We didn’t book any meal so we had to take the car to buy something to eat. Even if the nearest supermarket is only 1 km away you need a car. - Room: spacious and vey beautiful. Romantic style. - Breakfast: VERY POOR for the price they charge. Only sweet things as croissants and muffins and toast bread with butter. And yoghurt. If you want cheese or charcuterie you have to pay extra 6-8 € per each. The service here was good! Marguerite ( I think that was her name) was amazing and always smiling. - Restaurant: no restaurant open during the day. Only lunch and dinner but you have to book in advance. They have a kitchen where they can prepare a sandwich. - Pool: small pool but fine. Beautiful surroundings. I would not recommend for families or young couples.
