Jugendstilhotel Paxmontana

Everything was perfect. The location is beautiful, the historic hotel nicely maintained and the service friendly. Our two half-board dinners were delicious and prices are reasonable. We strongly recommend this secluded hide-away with a strong link to swiss early history.

My wife and I had our wedding here. The preperations went off without a hitch, we got asked the right questions and got excellent recommendations. The wedding itself was perfect! The scenery was beautiful, all our guests enjoyed the fine dinner and the historic room was wonderful to dance in. We spent the night at Paxmontana afterwards and had a lovely breakfast that morning. Simply an amazing experience all in all!

It is a late 19th century hotel that has kept all of its beautiful decorations and fin de siècle chique. The rooms are simple but comfortable and well furnished. But their main attraction is the view! Whether you are on the front or the back of the hotel, the views are equally spectacular. There are plenty of good hikes nearby (of different levels of intensity) and relaxing on the terrace looking at the mountains afterwards beats the comfort of any spa. The breakfast is excellent with a wide variety of Swiss mountain cheeses, home made muesli with ditto fruit compote. Dinner was very good with many local specialities. We didn't know the hotel, but certainly hope to return, soon!

This is a "Belle-époque"-Hotel built in 1896, painstakingly restored to its original state. We stayed there before COVID in July 2020 with two friends. We had booked two twin-bed rooms with historical furniture and balcony. The rooms were charmingly old-fashioned with a breathtaking view, but bathrooms were quite modern. Everything clean. No television (we appreciated), WiFi functioning. The dinner was excellent and served in style, as was the breakfeast. The staff consisted mostly of friendly young people, to conclude from their language obviously recruited from the region. All of them seemed to be proud to serve in this local monument and we felt that we were taken care of kindly and personally. Afternoon tea is served on the sunny terrace. The surroundings are quiet, sleep excellent. The 500-year old house of Saint Nikolaus von Flüe is reached in 5 Minutes by foot, and his hermitage where he lived for decades without food is in a steep canyon behind the hotel, 15 Minutes by foot. Its quite clear that this old hotel has rooms of uneven quality and size. Some have historical furniture, some have modern furniture. Probably one should be prudent not to take the cheapest rooms.

Su ubicación, en medio de los Alpes suizos, invita a la serenidad y el descanso. Las habitaciones son amplias y cómodas, con terrazas que miran a un paisaje embriagador. Hay detalles encantadores como las manzanas puestas a disposición del huésped en el hall, el libro de visitas para dejar constancia gráfica de la estancia o la tableta de chocolate suizo como obsequio al llegar a la habitación. Es ideal para desconectar del mundo. Por eso prescinden de los televisores en las habitaciones y los sustituyen por prismáticos. El único elemento perturbador es el sonido de los cencerros del ganado en mitad de la noche.

Immer wieder gehen wir gerne ins Flüeli-Ranft, zum Wirkungsort des Heiligen Niklaus von der Flüe. Es ist aber das erste Mal, dass wir im Paxmontana übernachtet haben. Im Hotel mit dem historischen Ambiente haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Servicepersonal war ausgesprochen freundlich und zugewandt. Wir haben es geschätzt, dass überwiegend regionale und saisonale Speisen serviert wurden (die vietnamesischen Riesencrevetten hat die Küche nicht nötig). Das Zimmer mit Terrasse und schönem Blick auf den Sarnersee war ruhig. Etwas irritiert haben uns die Hunde im Speisesaal, Alles in allem waren wir sehr zufrieden und kommen gerne wieder.

Bombastisches historisches Hotel und Restaurant mit sehr guten Speisen und super freundliche Bedienung. Alles zu unserer besten Zufriedenheit. Hotel ist in super erhaltenem Zustand mit Bildern ausgestattet in denen die alten Zeiten abgebildet sind und so den Werdegang sieht.

Sehr empfehlenswert für eine entspannte Auszeit in einem stilvollen Hotel, in idyllischer Umgebung. Gastfreundschaft, Qualität und Ausgezeichnetes Essen verbinden wir mit dem PAXMONTANA. Wer gerne einen Moment aus dem hektischen Alltag auftauchen und durchatmen möchte, ist hier genau richtig. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Unser Club hat im Jugendstil-Hotel Paxmontana seine Jahresversammlung abgehalten. Anlässlich der Vorbereitungen wurden wir durch das Personal sehr freundlich und kompetent unterstützt. Am Anlass wurden unsere Clubmitglieder herzlich empfangen und sehr freundlich und umsichtig bewirtet. Das Mittagessen war hervorragend! Für die Führungen im Dorf Flüeli konnten wir auch auf die freundliche Unterstützung durch die Hotelrezeption zählen. Wir haben von unseren Mitgliedern nur positiven Feedback erhalten. Ein grosses Dankeschön an die ganze Belegschaft!
