Hotel Maren Fort Lauderdale Beach, Curio Collection by Hilton

Pros: The hotel is very clean and location is very convenient, close to beach and many good restaurants. Bed is comfortable. Cons: parking and drinks are expensive. And the refrigerator is very noisy.

A smaller hotel than the others in the area creates a better customer experience where front desk staff to the staff at the beach remember you and go out of their way to ask about your day. There was a personal touch given to staff that makes your stay feel very welcoming. The amenities of having beach chairs at any time, bicycles, restaurants and steps away from the beach and marina make this hotel the best choice out for choosing a hotel. We arrived early and had our room available by 1. We returned to having our luggage delivered. My only complaint is there could be more pool staff during lunch hours. Many people were waiting for the staff to return while they were picking up food orders from the restaurant, it would have been better for restaurant staff to bring the food up. Overall I was extremely happy with the hotel. I would recommend doing the river tour which you dock 5 mins away and going to the city centre around the river or downtown Las Olas for dinner.

This is a beautiful property right across the street from the beach. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and spacious. Family friendly

I just checked out from the hotel after a 4 night stay. It was a very unpleasant experience to find out that the “complimentary drinks” we were given at the time we checked in were charged to our room. In addition, the young girl at the front desk that checked us in did not at all mention a resort fee. All she said was “you will get the money back” at the time she asked for a cc for the security deposit. She was also the same person that checked us out and handed us a bill of $215 dollars explaining there was a resort fee per day and the charge for the daily complimentary drinks. I am not fighting the resort fee, if there is one there is one. However, I would’ve appreciated better customer service and to fully and honestly explain the way they operate. The complimentary drinks are something I do fully feel blindsided about because at no time did we ask for anything complimentary, it was given to us only to find out at checkout they charge for it? That sounds very dumb and unprofessional. We tried to speak to the manager, Ryan, who was supposed to be in at 8am today, but he was still not in at 10:50am when we checked out. This property needs to train their employees better and to fully disclose what they are doing. Omitting information to customers is not okay. Under training staff is unprofessional.

This is a nice hotel. The pool and beach are nice and the restaurants are good. The room was spacious. There is construction going on next door and our room wasn't ready when promised. Shawn provided excellent service and really made a great impression compared to the rest of the service that was average. Alex from the bar was also super.

Overall I was disappointed with this property considering the costly daily rate. I expected a much more sophisticated and luxurious experience. There was no conceirge; that task was left to the people behind the check-in desk and luggage runner. The restaurant at the hotel was mediocre at best. I ordered a drink and after 25 min and multiple requests i finally received it in a dirty glass and there were other issues with the meal that day. My main disappointment was with the room i reserved. The picture on the website had a beautiful oceanfront view with balcony, but instead i received a "construction view" and a partial view of both the ocean and intercontinental. After my complaint to the GM, I noticed the picture on the website was changed to a more realistic depiction of the view from the room they said we booked (which we didn't). The revised picture still does not include the lot which is full of construction and not nearly completed and a lot of noise. Thankfully, they finally moved us into the correct room halfway thru our stay. I feel this property is not worth the money and I would choose somewhere else on my next trip to Ft. lauderdale. However it is directly across the street from the beach (beach umbrellas are $30/day and not included in the resort fee). The rooms and hallways were clean, however we did have small ants in the room. I also would have appreciated being treated in a more respectful manner with some of the staff that i dealt with.
