I had a nice experience here. Third floor has wonderful views of Stuart Lake. Staff are outstanding and so helpful. King's cafe next to the hotel has a nice breakfast menu, and St. James Restaurant has decent but expensive Chinese cuisine; it closes earlier than you might think. There is a Subway Cafe a few minutes walk from the hotel, and there is a Save On grocery store a little past the Subway. I grew up in Fort St. James; The View is definitely not the old Fort St. James Hotel.

Room was clean. Parking was good. Bed was comfy. I was on the 3rd floor and had a nice lakeview. It was quiet on this floor. I noticed the restaurant was closed... too bad as there are not many places in town to eat. Good thing I brought my own food. I asked for a kettle to make tea as there was a sign posted stating this. The staff person went to find one but was unable to accommodate the request. They suggested I use the coffee machine in my room. No thanks... the water always tastes like coffee. Maybe take the sign down if you can't actually provide a kettle. No hot water was available on the lobby for tea either.

Three friends stayed one night before hiking nearby Mt Pope. Comfortable large room with extra bed made up and three of everything in bathroom supplies, coffee, etc. (which was impressive as I recently stayed in two high end Winnipeg hotels where we had to ask third faceclothes, etc.) There really is a lovely view...and friendly staff.

Went for a couples night away on a road trip.the staff was very friendly and helpful. Stayed on the second floor overlooking the lake was a great view and the room was very clean and fresh will definitely be staying there again if we get the chance

This is very well run - staff are friendly, hotel is super clean and the view of the Stuart Lake sunset is incredible. Centally located in town with a short walk to the public park on the lake I have stayed here several times and never had an issue.

I was blown away by how expensive it was to have two beds! One bed was $150 and then 2 beds being 270! I’ll never stay here again.
