La Fontaine Boutique Hotel by the Oyster Collection

My wife and I stayed here on our honeymoon and loved the hotel's setting right off the Main Street of Franschhoek. The hotel was incredibly comfortable, they staff was so helpful and friendly, and the breakfast was a great way to start the day. Highly recommend for anyone staying in the winelands!

We know we were in for a treat when we realised that La Fontaine was a sister hotel to Blackheath Lodge in Capetown, where we had spent the previous 5 nights. Part of the Oyster collection, the attention to detail for guest experience, is really impressive. Thay clearly recruit and train to the highest standard. Kim is phenomenal in her concierge role. She recommends and books activities and restaurants, and even provided information for our next destination, Hermanus Bay. Nothing was too much trouble, and the other staff, including Cecilia and Franklyn were also so helpful. The location is good and central to Franschoek town centre. The breakfast patio and room are pretty, with a delicious offering of cake, biscuits, tea and coffee all day. The breakfast options are extensive with fruit, yoghurt, cereals, pastries, meats and cooked dishes. There are two small pools with comfy longers and an extremely inviting sitting room with a fire, where we enjoyed a nightcap. Our room was really comfortable and quiet, with a large, if somewhat quirky bathroom (old pull chain toilet) We cannot recommend this more highly and thank the staff for a really enjoyable stay.

We just returned from our second stay, 6 nights, at La Fontaine in two years. Such a lovely hotel in a perfect quiet location for walking around Franschhoek to dine and shop. Staff was helpful in arranging our dinner reservations and drivers, when needed. Breakfast selections are delicious with many options, delicious cappuccino and teas. Breakfast is served on the patio when the weather cooperates. Afternoon tea is served with a daily baked sweet. The suites are wonderful, with all the comforts of home. I especially loved the container of rusks to accompany my morning tea in the room before breakfast. There are two wonderful pools with chaise lounges, umbrellas for shade and sun screen available. Last year, we used a hotel driver for two half day wine tours, which worked perfectly with our time frame. This year, having plenty of time, we rode the wine tram. Staff is 100% available to help and make sure that everything is perfect during your stay. I cannot thank Kim, Celia, Franklin, Morne and Karlof enough for their kindness and anticipating our needs during our stay.
