The Nettle & Fern Hotel

Phew. Where do I begin? Do I start with appreciating the mosth breathtakingly beautiful views of the snow capped peaks from the hotel? Or the friendly and helpful staff at the hotel, namely Govind the ***ager and Amit the all-rounder! Or the lovely bedrooms with ceilings made with splices tree logs. Or the hot thukpa! There’s so much about this place that left us spellbound . Not to mention the warm owner and host Mr. Naresh Shreshtha, who hung around with us at the bonfire. All in all, I might come and stay here again. And if you’re mulling over the booking, just press the yes button! You will not regret it, I promise you.

The best in whole of India I would say. I have visited so ***y places never had the privilege to meet such amazing people ***aging such an extraordinary hotel. We felt like staying at home.For couples visiting a hilly area and having fun in snow please choose this hotel. We got stuck in snow storm but MR DHIREN from the hotel stood out of any travel agency available there and walked on the black icer roads for about 10km to bring us back to the hotel. That kind of responsibility they show. And I would request the tourist to take the sightseeing package from the hotel itself because in times of emergency I have found travel agents ignoring he passengers. The only disappointment I had was they didn’t provide the valley facing room which could have made my requirements complete. Do not expect mail revert as I requested a week earlier for valley room. I liked the hotel and the people though. The road side facing rooms were also nice and nicely decorated. Since I hardly stayed in room I was ok. But if you are traveling with kids I would recommend valley facing rooms. Hot water, room heater and other amenities works fine. The major issue will be for elders as the hotel don’t have any lift. For communication to MG Marg just stand in front of the hotel, waive a share cab and they take Rs 20 and drop you at MG Marg, for far distance like Deorali or Tandong, the price is Rs 40. If you want to reserve, it will take between Rs 100 to Rs 500. Food is nice, they even packed my breakfast the day I was departing from NJP early morning. Overall, would recommend the place if you love a quaint and nice stay.

The staff is so polite. The hotel will make you feel at home. It had an amazing view from the cafe down below and the buffet breakfast was near perfect. The rooms are clean and very comfortable. I had fun in the lobby as well.

the rooms are very clean, the furniture is wooden and very nice, the staff is courteous and kind, the breakfast is great, the hotel is quiet and the location is convenient to reach mg market by walk in 5 minutes. it was a wonderful experience, I 100% recommend this hotel

No lift . No toiletries. In room sleepers were not provided. South Indian dishes at breakfast are not up to the mark. Main course menu lacks variety. Cleanliness is great. Staffs are polite & helpful. Front desk should be more active to arrange tours & taxis for tourists.

Hotel service is good. Staff is polite and friendly. Bathrooms are small. My room has mountain view which is ofcourse extra charged by hotel. Service is provided by hotel in room also. Food was good and my trip was ***aged by ***ager itself. If you dont know the places to visit then have talk with hotel staff.

We stayed for 4 nights in Nettle & Fern on our sikkim trip. It's best hotel in gangtok. Rooms are specious with beautiful interior. Staff is good. ***ager Dhiren is very helping. He helped us book hotels at other places. We had absolutely amazing stay everywhere. Will strongly recommend.

This is my second visit to the property. The hotel is extremely clean, food is good and last but not the least the staff is extremely helpful. If you are planning to hire a car for local sight seeing or traveling to other cities, please contact the hotel. They will provide you with a car costing you less than what you will pay at the local taxi stand.
