Clarion Inn

The staff were very friendly, from check in to check out. The hotel is older but very clean. There are some areas that need a little extra love around the pool and stairways but nothing big. The only thing missing is an ATM machine. It has been a long while since I have not seen an ATM at a hotel

The room was one of the older ones that had not yet been redone, but it was very comfortable and clean. The bed was comfortable with a variety of pillows that were fluffy and comfy. While we were there, a blizzard occurred that closed the roads in basically every direction. Fortunately, the hotel has its own restaurant that serves a variety of complimentary breakfasts each morning. The night after the blizzard, we received a phone call from the desk inviting us and all guests to supper compliments of the hotel. The kitchen staff and wait staff had been sent home, but we were all treated to a sandwich bar with a variety of meats, cheeses and breads. There were also jalapeno poppers. Kindness in Kansas is a way of life and of business. We appreciated being able to extend our reservation and to be treated to a meal without venturing out on treacherous roads. We will certainly stay again and recommend it to anyone wanting a comfortable place to stay. Oh, there is a nice indoor pool and hot tub, but we didn't take advantage of them.

We stayed here because the Heritage Inn is still closed and the purpose of our trip was to visit the Parrot Cove Water Park. We figured the hotel would be comparable, but the Clarion is so much older and showing its age. Though we asked, we didn't receive any Water Park benefits for staying at the Clarion which was disappointing. I called ahead to get a pack and play for the room, which was delivered but dirty so we didn't use it. The curtains/sheers were very dirty, as was the carpet. The deadbolt was broken and unusable. The WIFI was weak and so slow, it was nearly impossible to use.

This was our first stay at The Clarion Inn and we plan to return. It was a wonderful place to celebrate the last night of our 3-day drive home. Our room had a comfortable king-size bed and a thermostat for air conditioning, rather than a noisy window unit. Everything was spotless and attractive. The room offered a microwave and smaller refrigerator, as well as coffee maker. Food and drinks were also good. The lounge bartender, Dustin, delivered outstanding gin & tonics, which we enjoyed in a garden courtyard so my husband could have a cigar. I was considering having shrimp tempura and a salad in the lounge, but Dustin convinced my husband to try the chicken chardonnay at Baron's Steakhouse (part of the hotel), which was fantastic! I had a medium rare tenderloin, which was perfectly grilled. Meals are discounted 15% for those staying at the hotel. The Clarion also offered a free made-to-order breadfast at Baron's. Was in town for meetings and my co-worker suggest we stay at this hotel. I’ve stayed at several hotels in what I consider small towns. I call this a small town with a small regional airport! First, I had put on my hotel reservation in the comments requesting airport shuttle pickup. Unfortunately, apparently the hotel did not get that message, but when I called when I arrived at the airport for a shuttle, they asked the driver to turn around and come back and pick me up as he had just left the airport when I got my baggage. Secondly, the service and food at the restaurant was excellent! Great service! The only downside I had of the hotel, is that the hotel room was dated. The bathtub is definitely in need of replacing. Bathroom in the room is also very small. But, they were great getting me back to the airport when I departed 2 mornings later! Will definitely stay at this hotel again when I’m back in town!

Wonderful reception area. The greeter was Corrina (spelling?). She even helped me in the front door when I was struggling with too many things in my hands. She changed our room, so it was much more accessible. Clean room. There is rich oak paneling everywhere. Instead of the usual make-do breakfast, the attached restaurant, Barrons, was an order from the menu breakfast. The food was delicious and large servings. The wait staff was incredible. Great experience..
