Really lovely place in the heart of the Yorkshire dales. Very quaint. Enjoyed an extremely comfy nights sleep. Very clean and had a lively bath.

Lovely hotel - the rooms are elegantly decorated, with lovely furnishings, clean white bathrooms, ample teabags and plugs etc. The food was excellent - i had dinner and breakfast - great service, friendly atmosphere - i would definitely recommend it.

A large family group of ten with 2 dogs booked a surprise birthday party. The booking was easy despite the fact we mentioned we had two dogs. Upon arrival the staff were obviously expecting our group and were more than happy for us to hang around and hide prior to our birthday guest arriving. Service was perfect with the waitress double checking our orders to ensure they were correct. Food arrived in perfect timing with no waiting for all 10 of us to be served at the same time. Nothing was too much trouble, children sharing dishes, even when one of them wanted an empty burger bun with all the filing on the side! Every meal was a success. Well done to the staff and especially the chef. Highly recommended - we will be back.

Everything about this hotel is perfect. Stayed a couple of nights. Room was nicely decorated and very clean. bed was very comfy. Free milk. juice and water is a lovely touch. Good choice at breakfast and includes vegan options too. Ate in the restaurant one evening and the food was beautiful. Big shout to all the staff who were lovely and welcoming. on site parking.

After living in the village for several years we were looking forward to visiting the Hartshead for a meal. Unfortunately the lady at the bar was extremely rude, no we couldn’t sit in the restaurant as it was fully booked (it was empty at the time) no we couldn’t have a coffee as there was no coffee machine (? Really? we were sat in front of a sign that advertised ‘coffees and desserts’ ) when it arrived the food was very average, small portions ( less chips than a small child would eat for tea) and expensive. Wished we had gone to the Black Horse instead. Disappointing.

Perfect weekend away.. Cosy quiet room with great food & drink .. Outstanding breakfast and welcoming feel from all the team. Great location and only a short walk into Settle for shopping. Highly recommended for a peaceful getaway in a beautiful location.

We stayed here for one night as we were attending a wedding at a local venue. We stayed in room 8 and it was a beautiful room on the bottom floor with external access. We had coffee and tea with water and cartons of juice in a mini fridge, which was a nice touch. The room was decorated lovely and was spotlessly clean. The breakfast was delicious. You could help yourself to yoghurt, fruit, cereal, coffee and tea and you could order a cooked breakfast, which included a full English ect.. You could also order pastries like croissants and pain au chocolates which were lovely and warm. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Stopped off on the way home from the Lakes. I had a gammon steak. It was hard to cut it with a steak knife let alone eat it. The egg and pineapple were Ok but the gammon was hardly edible. Poor quality and poor value. Pity because it appeared to be a nice hotel but won't be stopping here again! Very disappointed
