This a tired hotel that has not seen money spent on it for some time, or so it seems. The approach to the car park has a very poorly maintained section that will damage suspension and us shared with a KFC and a McDonald’s and so there is a lot of poor parking nearby. The car park is free but requires you to input the registration on a tablet on arrival, this includes any visitor who might only be dropping you off. There is no lift. On arrival the room was ready but had a curtain that didn’t work, had two bags of bedding under the bed one of which was ripped with bedding spilling on the floor. The bathroom was in need of some paint. Despite being a couple there was only one hand towel and one bath towel so this involved a trek back to reception for another of each. There is a single drawer on the hanging space that had not seen a duster in some time so had to be wiped before it could be used. There was double glazing but the area between the secondary glazing and primary was dirty. This all seems to stem from the company policy of penny pinching as exampled by rooms only cleaned on request and even then only one fresh towel provided. Staff were good if stressed by the company’s policy. There is no decaf tea - again company policy.
