The Clyde Hotel

Location is brilliant, 5 minutes walk to Central big train station & center main street, close to everywhere. Staff are extremely helpful with quick responses, polite and cheerful.

DO NOT STAY HERE! I REPEAT DO NOT STAY HERE Having just returned from this hotel, I can safely say I won’t ever set foot in it again. It was a terrifying experience, I felt intimidated from the minute I stepped into the hotel, a man tried our door. I ended up sleeping with a chair behind the door to stop the men in hotel trying the door again. Only one lift was working, blood round the door frame, paint chipping off in various parts of the room. On walking into the restaurant for breakfast it was HORRIBLE, Chairs balanced up on tables and again it was quite intimidating. I can’t describe how bad the sausages looked. Apart from uncoloured and undercooked looking. We didn’t stay we left and went elsewhere for our breakfast. Looking out our window all to be seen was cigarette ends lying about. My advice would be DO NOT STAY HERE, again I repeat DO NOT STAY HERE. And definitely NOT IF YOU’RE female

The Clyde was fine for a night. Handy for Central Station and 10-15 minutes walk to Queen Street. The room was a bit scruffy but faultlessly clean and the bed was comfortable. Wi-fi password was provided but signal not strong enough to watch Netflix. No breakfast was offered and the bar didn’t appear to be open despite it being a Saturday night. Luggage room was handy before check-in and after check-out. Would probably spend an extra £10 and go somewhere else next time.

Don’t know why the bad reviews friendly welcome Lady at reception went above and beyond to have the room ready which was clean and had everything you need much Appreciated it’s central location near the train station

Just don’t bother, the room was the dark and dingy and seriously needed a deep clean, questionable stains on the base of the bed and what looked like blood on the walls. Overall not worth the money. The best thing about the whole place was the we on the first floor, amazing atmosphere great staff and the drink was really cheap

The bedroom had a lovely doublebed with clean crisp white sheets and pillow cases. Room decorated nicely and had a hairdryer, small television and teatray. Bathroom clean , dispensers of body wash/ hand soap. Fluffy white towels, hand/large sizes. Also had a burger in the Sports Bar and Breakfast the next morning, all the food i had was freshly prepared and enjoyable. 3 star hotel, if your after all the extra bells n whistles maybe not for you. But i had a pleasant stay with everything i needed.

Exactly what I expected for 3* at this price point. The hotel is dated on some floors but we found it really clean. We experienced a small issue with the room that the staff dealt with by moving us immediately to a better room. They were curtious and friendly allowing us to leave our bags until we caught our train.

This hotel is bankrupt, they have cancelled my reservation with an email without any solution for august 2023. Now I am stuck with 2 plain tickets and no place to stay. All hotels are sold out or too expensive.

Wouldn't ever go back. Awful hotel. Room was dirty. It's more of a homeless hostel than a hotel as was full of families with kids and prams and children going to school from hotel. Went down for breakfast and asked for vegetarian option to be told no. Only breakfast on offer was hard boiled eggs croissants beans and a white liquid that looked like porridge. I had to eat breakfast outside as I wasn't paying 10 pounds for a boiled egg. Checked out and not even a goodbye by the man on reception. Keep clear of this dirty and dated hostel.
