Explorer Cave Hotel

I would like to file a complaint against Charming cave hotel in Goreme Turkey. I booked this hotel for one room seven months ago and am eagerly anticipating my trip next month. However, I received a message today stating that my booking has been cancelled by the hotel. I reached out to the owner to inquire about the reasons behind this decision. The owner mistakenly assumed that another guest with the same last name as mine would be accompanying me and claimed they don’t accept group bookings. Despite I told the owner that my booking should not be impacted and asked for confirmation to keep my booking. The owner refused to provide assurances that I can keep my booking. So I have to cancel without other choice. In fact, when I used the link to confirm the cancellation, I got a message saying I booking is already cancelled so I cannot cancel again. I also found out that the price for the same booking has gone up from €300 to over €600, which perfectly explains why the owner wanted to cancel my booking for a ridiculous reason. This has been a very disappointing experience, especially considering I haven’t even arrived in the country

We booked a trip for May half a year ago. Yesterday, we asked the Charming Cave hotel about the hot air balloon information. They replied that they had booked a hot air balloon trip for us. We said we hadn't decided yet and would book it later. Then they directly cancelled our hotel reservation. This hotel no credibility at all. Cancelled our reservations for leaving free spots for a better price from orders in the peak season. I highly recommend you NOT to book with them.

Upon receiving news of death of gfather not being able to make the trip, requested for a refund or extension — staff/owners were unhelpful, condescending and with zero sympathy. They were the only hotel who were shockingly horrible about this whole situation. Every other hotel expressed sympathies and refunded in a heartbeat / was polite about the whole situation

From.booking to the very last minute, this experience for me and my wife was outstanding. The breakfast was exceptional and the staff were very helpful and happy. The main host in reception was Ibrahim, and his knowledge of the area,along with his exceptional character, was a real delight, and we have thoroughly enjoyed our short break, and recommend this to all our family and friends.

We enjoyed our stay at Charming cave hotel. First of all, it is really charming. It is very nice and cozy. The room was nice, with everything you need for your stay. Great location. Beautiful terrace with the best view. Very nice set up for taking photos with balloons. Service was really attentive and kind. And the breakfast, we enjoyed it very much, home cooked dishes, everything was very fresh and tasty, every day they changed it a little. The breakfast terrace has also wonderful view. If we will come to Cappadocia again, will stay at Charming cave hotel for sure.

An absolutely fantastic hotel! Excellent communication from Irfan and the hotel team prior to arriving. Highly recommend booking airport transfers, hot air balloon and Cappadocia tours through the hotel as they made everything so easy and simple and the experience was incredible. Particularly as our balloon experience got changed due to bad weather and the hotel worked with the balloon company to reschedule for the next day whilst keeping great contact with me. Recommend booking at least 2 nights to ensure you have 2 mornings for a balloon flight due to the weather conditions being unpredictable. We were told by 4pm the day before if our balloon flight would be going ahead. The cave room was perfect and the breakfast was tasty and massive! Wifi very good, staff so friendly and truly made our Cappadocia experience perfect! I can’t recommend this hotel enough!

A fantastic stay! The staff at the hotel were brilliant and made us feel very welcome. They were able to give us suggested tours, helped book our hot air balloon trip and supported us with transfers to and from the airport. Rooms were nice and clean with everything you need. Our rate included breakfast which had both hot and cold options and was plenty to keep you going until dinner. The location of the hotel was just a short walk to the shops and restaurants. Would recommend to others and would happily stay again!

Overall, this hotel was beyond expectations for us! From the comfortable bed, to the beautiful view, to the helpful staff, who were so friendly and honest, to the amazing breakfast and proximity to the shops and red in Goreme. We highly recommend this family run hotel. They also helped us organise hot air ballooning, car transfers to/from airport and tours. They work with a great tour guide named Bilal - he was amazing and so knowledgeable. Also, this hotel has one the highest views of Goreme with two balconies!!! Exceeded our expectations!!!

The Charming Cave Hotel is, well, charming. The charm comes from the staffs and the service they provide. The room are not your luxury hotel room, they don’t tell you that it is, it is however more expensive than most, but that’s because, location, service, and staffs were amazing. Let me paint a picture for you, when I wake up, get ready, go about town and do whatever I needed to do, someone is there, greet me good morning/afternoon, or whatever may be. Then asked you how’s it going? Anything they can do to help? Or need cleaning in your room? Plus the room comes with a Turkish breakfast, if you don’t know what that means, maybe you should research! Irfan and team helped me from airport transfers, booking tours, private drivers, and hot air balloon rides. He gave me options. He gave me some time to think… HE DIDN’T PRESSURE ME NOR THREATENED ME. and I’m glad I went with him!!
