Avoid! We were woken at midnight by music so loud that the floor vibrated. Just when we thought it couldn’t be any louder, it got worse! At 2:30am they pumped up the volume even louder. Even without my hearing aids, I could hear ever word of the lyrics. At 3am, the music finally stopped and then we had an hour of revellers hanging around outside, swearing, yelling and banging on doors. On top of this, the curtains didn’t fit the windows. For some reason, they decided to split the pair of curtains so one half was barely covering the window in the bedroom and the other curtain was over the bathroom window, hung on a mop handle! The lights in the building opposite, stayed on all night so it was hard to sleep before the music started. The pub needs to decide whether it wants to offer accommodation or be a ‘nightclub.’ It’s disrespectful and arrogant to offer accommodation without being honest and upfront about the noise. We asked for a quiet room away from the noise so if this is one of the quieter rooms, I dread to think what the other rooms are like. Now we are driving home extremely tired after three hours of sleep. The hotel should put a warning on their website about the noise and ask customers to bring their own curtains!
