Squires Estate

We had really great time here! In the squires estate you will have everything you need during holiday. Starting from wonderful cats, pool, beautiful beach ending with great equipped home! The hosts took care of everything - even a thermal bag for the beach!

My wife and I travelled to Eleuthera for the first time and absolutely loved the island! Nice people, good food and great beaches everywhere we went. We stayed in the Cornerwall house in the Squires Estate area of Governors Harbor and really enjoyed our experience. The house is centrally located to all Governors Harbor has to offer, yet only 5 minutes to French Leave Beach. Patrick (the host) came by after we arrived to get us settled in and was very helpful during our stay. We haven’t even left and we are already booking our next visit!

It has been 5 years since I was at Squires last ! I gave it a four stars then but now ? This place is now unquestionably the place to stay in GHB. I was hosted at the CIGATOO Squires “new” hospitality venture; in a huge garden with plenty of shade and a superb large pool the suites are HUGE sumptuously decorated comfortable with all and any amenities and of course they enjoy the charme courtesy and warm island hospitality that have made Squires famous.

This stay was one of my most memorable trips ever.This estate is Superb, quiet and stunningly beautiful. Also every possible necessity was literally minutes from my cottage. This definitely is a must do again location. 100/10

The house itself is beautiful- inside and out. Patrick and his team were awesome. Incredibly communicative and helpful leading up to our stay and during our stay. Unfortunately the power went out Wednesday morning around 4:30am due to storm. Totally out of anyone’s control and Patrick was great about sending updates. Leaving this in a review should it help another family request to stay in one of their other 2 houses that comes with a generator. The power came back that evening fortunately but definitely would’ve been a bit of a bigger issue if it’s stayed off longer (we were a family of 7 during our stay). The other drawback for me was the neighbor…we all felt a little uneasy with the run down abandoned house with a squatter living next door. Location was pretty good :)

I have stayed at three Squires Estate residences on two trips to Eleuthera: Toad Hall, Belmont Cottage and Elisa's Cottage. All were wonderful. Toad Hall has amazing space filled with spectacular antiques, a cook's kitchen with high-end appliances, and a birds-eye view of the harbor. Belmont Cottage views of the harbor are unparalleled. It is the perfect space for a solo traveler or couple who need a relaxing spot to land after exploring the island. Elisa's Cottage has stunning garden views and is ideally sized for a solo traveler or couple who enjoy spending down time in a charming environment. Rare for a rental in Eleuthera, it includes a beautiful soaking tub. I was also excited to find out that it included use of a washer and dryer nearby. Each residence has a pool assigned to it, and typically I was the only one using them, and when I wasn't I, ultimately, have met some lovely people. What makes Squires Estate especially stand apart is its location; it is about as walkable as you get in Eleuthera. I love being able to walk to local restaurants and bakeries and grocery stores, and have the opportunity to explore Governor's Harbour without a car. I love Eleuthera, but its drawback is having to drive constantly; Squires Estate's location provides a break from that if you hate driving as much as I do. It's an easy stroll to The Buccaneer (a favorite local restaurant with live music), The Governor's Harbour Bakery (for delicious and inexpensive treats) , DaPerk coffee shop just down the hill, Bacchus Fine Foods around the corner (make reservations for the pizza party on Wednesday night), and the legendary Friday-night Fish Fry in Cupid's Cay. Furthermore, the management, Patrick, Charmaine and Britney, are remarkably responsive; they do all they can to ensure their guests enjoy their stay. Finally, they have some savvy cats who call the estate home (they know who loves them and when they should stay away). As well, as families of chickens. I absolutely loved all of them. If you don't love cats and chickens, or are allergic, they won't bother you. I sort of send out radar that attracts them (okay, I give them treats). They are super friendly so you know they are treated well. Being able to share my trip with them was a real highlight, the cherry on the sundae of my experience, so to speak. I can't say enough good; trust me when I say that you will be glad you spent your holiday here.

Excellent place to stay. We stayed in the Belmont Cottage for 6 nights. It was perfect, up on a hill with a great view of the harbor, easy walking distance to town and places to eat. Patrick and Charmaine were fantastic hosts and managers of the property, responding quickly to any questions we had about anything!!!!The property was immaculate, the pool very comfortable, generally quiet and peaceful and the porch was a great place to watch the sunset. Accommodations were very nice, well designed, nice beach chairs, umbrella, great shower, fully equipped kitchen. Highly recommend staying here. Thanks you Patrick and Charmaine for your hospitality ! We stayed in the Cornerwall House during our stay in Eleuthera and absolutely loved every minute. The house has three bedrooms and 3.5 baths, all featuring access to a beautiful terrace that over looks the pool and harbor. The house features great amenities and a pool, which we throughly enjoyed during our stay. The house itself is very nicely appointed and has everything you could possibly need during your stay including beach chairs and umbrellas, beach towels, a fully stocked kitchen, purified water, and more. The decorations and scenery created a serine and peaceful oasis. There are also quite a few restaurants and markets within walking distance which we frequented a lot during our trip. The Squires Estate team is so responsive and offered great recommendations during our stay. Would highly recommend booking with them on Eleuthera! Can’t wait to come back!!

Flora House was comfortable, clean, well appointed and perfect for a group. We were only 3 people but we enjoyed the space. The house was well situated to restaurants, stores and shops. It was very safe to wander, checking out the views! Beaches and other eateries were all in close proximity by car. The beaches were exceptional and almost always empty! The water was warm and calm! Perfect! Patrick Nolan was very helpful and always available both before and during our trip. He was very friendly and professional in every interaction. Remember to visit the Leon Levy nature preserve close to the house. It was very informative. Take good shoes! Have lunch after at Tippy’s. The joy of Eleuthera is the fact that there are few tourists and no cruise ships at this point. The people are lovely and there are more beaches than you can count.
