H10 Costa Mogán - Adults Recommended

Stayed at this Hotel in room 1024 from 30 September to 07 October 24. It's a lovely comfortable hotel The staff are 5* very polite and helpful, food is of good quality and plenty of it. The access to the room is along a walkway where the generators etc are located just below they can be noisy but when your room door is closed I didn't hear anything. The evening entertainment was of a fair standard , the one draw back was if tou were in your room and wanted an early night that would be hard to do because the patio doors are only single glazed. The bar at night was staffed by one bar person so he was fairly busy. The quality of some of the spirits was substandard not the Original brand you would expect. The one big let down of this hotel was the non availability of a shower area for departing guests after they had checked out of their room at 1200 especially if their flight was late in the evening. We were luck to be able to extend our check out until 1500 for an extra €35 which was very reasonable. Overall we had a lovely seven day stay at this hotel.

The food is the main let down at this hotel and is the leading reason the hotel does not meet 4 star standards in my eyes. A few small optimising changes would help here as I understand they are working with very limited hot food option spaces. For example - not sure why there is roasted vegetables or carrots being served at breakfast? Found that very odd and I’ve not seen this in H10 to date. There is severe lack of potato options - for example no hash browns at breakfast or patatas bravas. Often waiting long times for cooked meats. Other than the reception toilet - there was not a hand soap filled to be seen in this hotel. We were using the hand sanitiser in the main dining area and even that ran out on our last day. I like the idea of the pasta/pizza station but to be honest, with the dining area being as small as it is - it takes up 1/3 of the space and limits the idea of “themed” nights which is what I look forward to the most at H10. Not all food labelled and some nights - completely incorrectly labelled as they just put out different food/ice cream. They do have a gluten free section of bread/rice cakes/ biscuits and muffins. It’s worth noting that due to the open area above- there seems to be a great issue with fruit flies around the pastries and the wine bowl, which also put us off. You will also have to serve yourself all drinks - including the wine from the bottles at night, they simply do not have the staff to offer this. We were scolded by bringing a bottle of wine to the table - just wait until you have to service all guests! The main bar often ran out of the branded drinks, cocktails not served in proper H10 glasses and bar staff often telling people they could not make Irish coffee or something else that is on the menu. Staff are all very friendly, however it’s very obvious they are understaffed. The queuing at the bar situation would be resolved if they kept the pool bar open and had two separate bars at night time. I would also throw in that there is music by the pool, which is different compared to many H10s I have stayed in but it was a welcomed touch for myself. We also booked the beach club area at the pool bar for €30 for the day a few times (weekend €45) this came with a fruit platter, and supposed to be a bottle of cava but this wasn’t given all days - so some inconsistency here considering you pay for this. The area was also not often swept or cleaned from palm trees above and there is a leaking shower. The main benefit is that this hotel offers a later start and you can get a sunbed by the pool at 10am and at any time through the day next to the bar. We had a small issue with the safe which was sorted within 5 minutes of reporting to reception - as we were sent back up to the room and the maintenance man got there before we entered. However we did report the balcony door did not lock on the same night and it’s important to note this wasn’t resolved the full stay. I’m fully certain it wasn’t even fixed on our ar

Lovely hotel, room was fabulous, spacious and spotlessly clean. Staff are excellent, really helpful & friendly. Nice and large selection of breakfast & lunch selections. Food varied nightly. Great salad selection, vegetables & different meats & fish cooked on the grill with freshly cooked pizzas & pasta available every night. Area is quiet but that's what we wanted. You can walk to Amadores Beach & Puerto Rico if you like a walk but also buses available 100 yards from the hotel. We would definately come back to H10 Costa Mogan.

The Hotel is immaculate the cleaners work tirelessly everyday and the staff are very friendly. The hotel in right on the beach with lovely sea views from the rooms and Pool. The Food is ok not the best quality and a bit repetitive there isn’t a lot in the village but Puerto Rico or port Mogan are short bus or taxi trips away. The Pool is nice but same old story get up late there isn’t many beds left, the beach bar is nice and serves drinks and stuff all day! We went all inclusive and you don’t get much extra to half board really, we’ve stayed at hotels that give much more to all inclusive guests. A let down is we were told there doesn’t get many children at the hotel we were told wrong and a lot of big drinkers from other uk nations came which put abit of a downer on the holiday. The entertainment was very Poor in the evenings and unless you get a taxi there isn’t a lot in the area. But the Hotel is ok.

Genuinely can not fault this hotel. Me and my partner have just had one of the best holidays of our life here. The whole time we just kept asking “whats the catch” We arrived to the hotel quite late and the reception team took our luggage and got us to dinner before checking in to ensure we didnt go hungry. When we went to the restaurant we were blown away by the size and selection of food. When we did get up to our room they had left us some food on the desk for incase we didnt get to eat which was such a lovely touch, especcially the little chocolates. The room had a large walk in shower, walk in wardrobe and a terrace with a beautiful view of the front of the hotel. There was full tea making facilities, a fridge and a coffee machine that you could pay €12 to get daily pods for (we didnt do this as there was always coffee at the bar). We got our room cleaned daily and they always did a fantastic job. There was a card you could put on the bed to get the sheets changed rather than just make the bed, we did this half way through the week. After we had it cleaned I got a little stain on the bed and they changed the sheets again the next day without us even putting the card on the bed! Breakfast was always the same, typical full english food, freshly made omlettes, pancakes, bread, pastries, cereal, cheese, meats and fruits. Lunch varied a bit throughout the week but usually consisted on fish, meat, veg, bread, salad, cheese, meats and puddings. Dinner definitely varied the most with themed nights (our favourite was mexican night). The staff were so friendly, particularly in the restaurant and the bars, and the animation team did lots of activities during the day that were great for kids such as water polo, jenga, quizzes etc. (we did not take part but we could see it was very fun for everyone else) The main pool was a great size with two mini jacuzzi’s either side and 1 kids pool just next to it. They provide you with decent-sized, thick pool towels that you can get changed as often as you like. The bar was open from 10 every morning through to 6 when the second bar opened for the evening until midnight and always had either a singer or mini show on. Great selection of branded alcohol all included in the AI package, they even filled our stanleys for us! There was another outdoor section next to the bar that included the 3rd pool but was adults only and cost €30 for two people all day. We chose to do this only the once and it was absolutely gorgeous! The pool its very shallow and you walk through it to get to a large cold-water jacuzzi at the end. At about 11:30am they came and delivered a fruit platter to each bed which was a lovely touch. They also had an a la carte restaraunt which you could book for 1 free visit during your stay. There was set starters, sorbet and desert but you could select 3 mains to share. I could definitely see that this restaurant wouldnt be to everyones taste but there is a menu just outside so you can decide if it

It's a fairly small hotel. This is a positive Never really have to queue for anything for too long. Food, lots of options and very fresh generally. Sunbeds...plenty and never struggled for one (not the usual 7am dash for beds which is refreshing.) Bars are great and branded drinks available in all inclusive. Place is spotlessly clean. The only downside I guess has nothing to do with the hotel, but everything to do with location....very quiet as it's sat within a number of resorts along the coast and almost nothing to walk too (Barr a couple of restaurants (which are fine and not expensive) we at in the old brogue...sound enough. Animation team try hard and are great. Lastly, evening entertainment is fine and again try to get everyone engaged...usually 9.30-10.30pm. All in all, suites are worth the upgrade, very clean and nice chilled place for a week (and a cab is only 7 quid into Puerto Rico) should you fancy a trip out. Actually, definitely worth a trip is Puerto mogan up the coast... stunning

A great hotel, very clean and well kept. Staff friendly and helpful. Food well presented and fresh. Pool areas clean Not up a hill like a lot of the other hotels Based in a quiet area of the island but a short taxi or bus ride to busier local hotspots.

An amazing holiday had as a family of 7, from young children to grandparents. Laura from the animation team is absolutely fantastic and the kids loved her, she made kids club so much fun and the mini disco really interactive for them to enjoy. All the other animation team also fantastic. Food was lovely and lots of variety to keep everyone happy. Really sad to be leaving but will definitely be back.

Had a great week at the H10 Costa Mogan. I have to admit I was a bit anxious after some of the reviews, but it was fabulous and I’ve booked to go back in February. I asked in advance for a high floor and we were given room 4037 which had lovely views of the pool and the sea. It is literally on a dark sand beach where sunbeds can be reserved for €3.50. We only stayed b&b because I like to go out and about in the day and try different places/restaurants in the evening, but the breakfast offering was very good. My sister particularly enjoyed the omelettes! Our room was cleaned every day and our towels replaced and beds changed despite us only being there for a week. The staff were friendly and I didn’t encounter any queuing at the pool bar or much of a wait in an evening either. We didn’t really see much of the entertainment but did catch a Beatles tribute who were very good. You can get to Puerto de Mogan in about 10 minutes in a taxi for around €17 and to Amadores in 5 for €7. We also walked along the beach to Amadores which is about a mile - easier if it’s low tide as less rock scrambling required!! Finally I have to mention Alberto on reception. All the reception team were nice enough but Alberto went the extra mile, even recommending to us a restaurant in Puerto de Mogan which was so good we went back for lunch. As an H10 regular (and Grand Class member) there were a couple of little quirks - for example a note saying I couldn’t charge anything else to the room as I was nearing €100 limit; fortunately I saw that note before I was embarrassed at the bar. I think this could be better publicised for b&b guests (and I also didn’t get any points when I settled up). I also paid €35 for a late check out which Grand Class members generally get for free (I certainly never pay the fees in Lanzarote) but neither of these things affected our stay. I would say there isn’t much for children here (and think it might be going adults only in the near future) but as someone who wanted to get away from it all for a week in a new place, this hotel really hit the spot for me and neither of us wanted to leave!
