Great for kids. Our 6 year old had a fantastic holiday. Claudia and Sheila did a great job entertaining the children with fun activities during the day and mini disco in the evening. There were other children to play with too. Good food with enough choices. Buffet style dining which means no waiting for table service so children don't get bored. Happy children = happy parents!

Great food, atmosphere and staff. I read lots of reviews beforehand which were a little off putting. From our experience, this is a great place for a family holiday. Lunch and evening meals were varied with plenty of choice. If you are a fussy eater there’s always chicken nuggets, pizza, loads of salad and chips. We found there was a different theme each night, always a fish dish on which were lovely. Some kind of red meat and different chicken. Breakfast was pretty much the same every day with pancakes, doughnuts and churros on a cycle. Lots of different pastries, cereals, but lacking in fresh fruit. Entertainment team were great- they put loads of effort in. Rooms were cleaned daily and bed sheets changed as and when required (daughter spilt a tiny bit of her drink on her bed that had just been freshly changed and the cleaning staff changed in again the following day). Hotel grounds kept clean and tidy. Loads of maintenance staff. There are a lot of cats, but they didn’t interact with us at all and we didn’t see any cat poo either which I’ve read about in other reviews. Staff on reception all friendly and helpful with very good English. We stayed in zone 3 which was quieter than zone 2, but not as quiet as zone 1. Nice to have sun loungers on grass verge outside room for a bit of privacy too. I thought the artificial grass around the pool was a great idea. I didn’t notice it smelling at all. No complaints from us- if we were the kind of people to return to the same destination, we would definitely be back! We have noticed that there are a few LIVVO hotels dotted around the canaries, so may give another one a go. It would be nice if there was a mirror in the bedroom as well as the hallway as can get quite crowded when 3 of you are trying to use on and person 4 is in the bathroom! No need to take beach towels or a hairdryer- hotel provide these along with shower gel and hand wash. All good quality.

The entertainment team at this hotel were great with my daughter and she loved to spend time with them. Thank you to Kevin and Amanda and the rest of the gang. A special mention to Claudio who really took time to get to know my family and helped to make our holiday so enjoyable. Thank you 😀.

I came to this hotel mainly because they offered entertainment. The activities are boring and short-lived. I was never asked if I wanted to do aquagym. The activities listed on the app did not exist. I was expecting to see a dance show by the entertainers, but I never saw one. The evenings are boring and the entertainer who wears glasses (I don't remember her name) is not understood when she speaks in English. I asked for at least a little professionalism, but I didn't get any of that. We left disappointed.

Very clean hotel with spacious rooms which were cleaned daily with fresh towels. Bottle water in room on arrival. Tea and coffee available to make in room. Staff all friendly, Amanda, Sheila and Kevin work hard to entertain guests with games during day and mini disco and show at night. Food was of a decent standard. With choices at lunch and dinner and always lovely fresh salads and fresh breads. Food of a.good temperature and dishes always well filled. The Italian restaurant very good quality food. Good range of alcoholic and soft drinks available. Only downside is the bar area is very small. Holiday World 10 minute walk away and spar close by. Location is remote.but courtesy bus to beach area daily. Aqualand 6 mins on courtesy bus and we'll worth a day out. Taxis are very reasonable priced if you wish to venture out in evenings.

Decided to treat ourselves to a visit for mine and my partners birthday and some nice sun whilst it’s been vile in the UK! We were welcomed by the lovely male receptionist with the ponytail upon check in and in the room was a lovely Happy Birthday message ☺️ we requested the same room we have had previously in zone 2 and this was accommodated with no problems. Hotel spotlessly clean the staff honestly work tirelessly all throughout the day and night. Very comfortable stay and it’s great to see the addition of the new snack bar, being able to pour your own draft beer is banging! Pizzas burgers and hot dogs all cooked fresh for you whenever you want them during the day until 4. As mentioned before, would be good to see tropical or dorada beer on draft, not a huge fan of San Miguel. Only been to Gran Canaria previously during the pride weeks, but it was lovely to explore and see the island out of the pride season, much more relaxed and very enjoyable. If you need a taxi to anywhere, just ask at reception and there will be one round within a couple of mins. The animation team again were amazing and seem to have expanded a lot since last time we visited? Lionel, Kevin and new lady with black hair and pony tail were fabulous and the hours of work they all put in to entertain all the guests and look after the little ones is fab, great work guys. It was also amazing to see the wellness area open, we haven’t seen this open in the past. We both had a much needed back massage and felt like I had a whole new back after it! The 2 ladies that work there are so lovely, true professionals and deserve to be commended. I would most definitely recommend anyone staying to make use of this facility, very relaxing setting. We were also very lucky to have some great holiday neighbours next door to us, had some right laughs and definitely great to make new friends who we will keep in touch with. No matter what time of the year it is, the Koala is a fantastic place to visit, can’t recommend it enough, always has a special place in our hearts and will be back in the not so distant future, thank you for such a wonderful stay again!☺️ for those debating booking here, just go ahead and do it, you won’t regret it!

Overall good but will bullet point pros and cons. - All staff fantastic and helpful - Good standard of cleanliness throughout - Good choice of pools, all clean - Nice calm laid back atmosphere - Good sized room with safe use included - Good air con in the room - Evening entertainment very poor unless you’re a child, the animation team work tirelessly but it’s clear the hotel aren’t spending on brining in acts. - Tea and coffee in room never replenished Opening times of restaurant in the evening was erratic Really enjoyed the holiday but too many bits to warrant a 4 star, talking with other guests who’d been prior, it seems like LIVVO’s take over has been done with a reduced budget in mind. Would go back as price was good and the cons are minimal.

So we arrived at the hotel very late evening and two huge cockroaches welcomed us in from of the hotel 🤣 luckily there is no cockroaches around the hotel (maybe seen 2 in our 10 days stay). Our room was 337 on the ground floor and we had a terrace with sunbeds and entrance straight to the swimming pool which was cool. Room was clean, bathroom big and with both bath and shower which is also very good. Shower had a little mould around but think it is normal. If I can advise you KEEP YOUR BATHROOM WINDOW CLOSED 😵‍💫 one day while I was in bathroom cleaning lady didn't hesitate to look through and ask me if I want cleaning which is not acceptable! We had a Do not disturb at the door anyway 🙄 we did not make a complaint but think we should have. Cleaning servise don't speak english which is very difficult to communicate with. In room is small fridge, kettle, tv and AC. There is SPAR shop just across from the hotel if anyway need anything. So food very poor if I am honest. Only pizza is really good 🤣 alcohol no comment (that's why we know where shop is🤣). Fake grass around the hotel is disgusting 🤮 a lot of cats as well (no problem for us as we are cats lovers). They kept coming in our room when we left balcony door open (especially Gordo) 🐈‍⬛ Life guards not even interested in their job and mostly not there anyway. No place to leave, no more needed floaties which is bad as so many was going to bin while could be used by other kids. Animation team FANTASTIC, Kevin, Claudia and Sheila so energetic and positive people. We all loved them so much and had a lot of fun 👏 all games were very competitive but although it was fun to had a laugh- we all brought 11 certificates 🤣 I am sure everyone was tired of my partner Henry who was winning all of them 🙋‍♀️🤣 we met there so many people from around the world and all of them knew Henry well and greeting him all day round which was funny 🤣 Pool bar cool and working there Carlos fantastic, my favourite barman 🍸 there is a Polish lady called Ida at the reception, she is really helpful. She was getting us big taxi (was 7 of us) every time and sorted us quads and recommended us some places to visit. We did parasailing from the near beach (7 mins by taxi) and boat (glass boat, 🐬 dolphins, snorkeling, banana boat, jet2) booked by GetYourGuide app. While been on the beach we also walked to see their famous dune of Maspalomas. We didn't enjoy stay at the beach as waves were very high and water was quite cold. Sand was very soft and save- unfortunately no mussels 😕 a lot of shops there to buy memorabilia or do braids, tattoo, nails, massage etc There is free bus from hotel to the beach side and Aqualand- but only once a day. That's why we used taxi. Aqualand really cool for any age. We've been there twice. Beacuse our stay in Koala was 10 days we got free vouchers for unlimited entrance to this water park. Food was awful, bed was broke,informed them I had heart failure and my daughter had a young baby and just had a c section yet they never told us there was no ramps & you had to carry the pram up & down 2 flights of stairs every time you went out, all inclusive is a joke kept running out of food which wasn’t a bad thing as it was disgusting, the staff were so rude, seriously don’t waste your money
