Ocean Villas Hotel

You need to manage your expectations when you book a stay at Ocean Villas. You might have watched their fancy YouTube video but it's not reality. You'll also see videos from past guests. And it's fair to say that these videos show the icing on the cake and core ingredients. If you saw a married couple from South Africa touring the hotel, be warned that they've shown the best parts. It's a 3 star establishment. And that means you're going to have to put up with a property that was built circa 1980s. There were signs of wear and tear everywhere. As you walk through the front door, some parts of the villas needed a bit of filler and a lick of paint. Some of the furniture had seen better days and our shower door leaked every time we took a shower. But the villa was clean. The beds were comfortable and our villa had amenities that you wouldn't expect. A safe, hair dryer and a microwave was available. A bottle of mineral water (Crystal) was also provided on arrival and parking outside the villas was convenient. As for the grounds, the gardens are kept well. It's not going to blow you away but again it's 3 star. The swimming pool didn't look as clean as we'd like. We opted not to go for a dip. The cushions on the seats were covered in stains. Not great. The beach was decent. The view out to the bay was great. You can swim but when we stayed, the sea was choppy but that's not the hotel's problem. What's great about Oceans Villa is its location. You're only 5 minutes away in a car from the best public beaches. Namely Trou aux Biches, Mon Choisy, Pereybere and La Cuvette. So you're spoilt for choice. We'd like to praise the service at the hotel. The kitchen staff and serving staff were accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. The entertainment in the evening was particularly good, and you'll certainly be tapping your toes and most likely dancing. Lastly the food. There's a good selection of food but too much MSG added to it. Every morning, we woke up to that awful salty taste on our tongues. So as you can gather there's some good parts to Oceans Villas but you're going to have to put up with some bad parts. if you're on a budget and happy to stay in a 3 star establishment where you can experience the beaches in the North, it's a good place to stay. Would we stay there again? I'd most likely opt for a self catering apartment. We felt for the money, we'd get better quality of facilities but then again we'd have to prepare our food.

Un établissement à taille humaine bien situé à Grand Baie. Les chambres coté mer sont parfaites et l'établissement propose de nombreux services de restauration, massages, activités nautiques. Le personnel est attentionné et l'accueil chaleureux.

Wir sind spät im ocean villas angekommen, leider lag keine Buchung für uns im Hotel vor, wir hatten aber natürlich eine Bestätigung vom Reiseveranstalter. Ich denke die kamen mit den Namen durcheinander, da wir ein zweites Zimmer für Familie hatten. Für die erste Nacht wurden uns verschiedene Zimmer gezeigt, am nächsten Tag könnten wir umziehen. Allerdings hatten wir in diesem Zimmer riesige Karkalaken. Wir nochmals umgezogen. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und bemüht uns zufrieden zuzustellen. Am nächsten Tag konnten wir 14 Uhr in ein frisch renoviertes Zimmer umziehen, Gartensicht mit Terasse damit waren wir absolut glücklich. Die Anlage an sich ist klein und wirklich schön. Auch der kleine Strand lädt zum entspannen ein. Sie renovieren fleißig und ich denke wenn die mal fertig sind wird das ein Ort zum Seele baumeln lassen. Wir hatten zum Schluss viele Kinder im Hotel, empfand ich als etwas störend durch die Lautstärke, ich finde das Hotel auch nicht geeignet für Kinder. Es gibt dort nichts für Kinder außer den Pool. Das Essen im Hotel ist vom Frühstück bis zum Abendessen wirklich großartig. Ob buffet oder ala kart, eine tolle Qualität. Wir hatten all in und auch unsere Cocktails waren klasse. Ich fand es etwas langweilig, da es nicht viel gab was man abends machen konnte. Die Bar schließt um 22 Uhr. Aber alles im allen ein angenehmer und erholsamer Aufenthalt

saubere Zimmer, riesiges Bad mit zwei Waschbecken, tolle Buffets am Abend, die viel Abwechslung bieten, kleiner Strandabschnitt, kostenlose Bootsausflüge, nette Mitarbeiter, Bibliothek, gute Lage, kleiner Minimarkt fußläufig, direkt an der Bushaltestelle, nicht weit vom Mont Choisy Strand

Nous avons passé une merveilleuse semaine dans cet hôtel à taille humaine! Chambre spacieuse, climatisée, ménage réalisé tous les jours, vue sur le luxuriant jardin. Très belle piscine aux abord du restaurant, superbe plage attenante à l'hôtel avec mobilier. Très bon restaurant buffet, varié le soir, buffets asiatique, mauricien, méditerranéen... buffet petit déjeuner similaire mais comme partout ! Des animations par des artistes locaux tous les soirs durant le repas! Personnel serviable et disponible! En résumé : vraiment super pour un 3 étoiles !!!

L’hôtel a été rénové plus ou moins. Mais il manque pleins de choses. Pour manger quelque chose dans l’après midi on n’a rien à part des frites. Activité que l'hôtel propose c’est que le matin, et en réservant en plus. Je trouve sa dommage car on s’ennuie.

In diesem netten kleinen Hotel sind schon einige Zimmer renoviert, der Rest soll im Frühling 2024 folgen. Unser großes Familienzimmer hatte 2 Bäder und 3 Schlafzimmer. Die Treppe in die oberen Zimmer war recht Geräuschsintensiv. Unser Zimmer war schon etwas älter, aber es war sauber und ausreichend ausgestattet. Das Frühstücksbuffet war gut und am Abend gab es Buffet und Liveunterhaltung durch lokale Musiker. Es gibt einen Pool, und eigenen Strand mit Liegen und Sonnenschirmen. Eine Bushaltestelle gibt es direkt vor dem Hotel von hier kommt man bequem nach Gran Baie oder an den Mon Choisy Public Beach. Für unsere Bedürfnisse war das Hotel gut und völlig ausreichend (man bucht und bekommt 3 Sterne)
