I have over 1,300 stays in Marriott branded hotels, I am a lifetime Titanium Elite member of Marriott. I checked on on a low census day (Monday) and am checking out tomorrow (Thursday). I have about 50 hotel stays (at Marriott properties) this year, about 88 in total (all hotels), it is sad that the Marriott brand is sliding so quickly down the slope as a brand; I feel the Super 8 hotels are doing a better job in customer care and service. When I checked in here I was asked if I wanted daily room services, I said yes (who doesn't). I come back to my room Tuesday after a hot day out visiting the Denver Zoo, room was not done. So I had no towels, trash (had a couple bananas for breakfast) smelled, bed not made. I went to the front desk, shared my room was not done, the clerk said rooms were serviced every other day. Really? She assured me that my room would be done Wednesday. Well it is Wednesday, I left my room at 8:30 this morning, returned around 3ish and guess what, room was NOT done. No one was at front desk, I had to go to the pool area to get towels. The only positive here is the breakfast area. The personnel in this area have done a remarkable job of prepping food and maintaining the area, clean and tidy. This is the only reason I provided 2 stars, had the breakfast service not been so good then this would have been a one star review. On this road trip from Lexington KY to Evans/Greeley CO I had to also stay at a Motel 6 and the experience at the Motel 6 was a marked improvement over the Fairfield Inn. Marriott has cut too many personnel, cut too much preventative maintenance, wiping out their ability to provide a great customer experience. Facilities are falling apart, personnel are not able to provide decent customer services...
