The Ritz-Carlton Reynolds, Lake Oconee

The Ritz was a welcome break from Atlanta for the weekend. We stayed on the club level, and had impeccable service. The club lounge had breakfast, lunch, and snacks all day with an endless array of drinks. The breakfast spread was good, but the exact same everyday. It might get old if you were staying longer than 3 days. The rest of the food varied, and was all delicious. I do wish they had regular coffee after lunch and decaf in the evening. They only had black coffee at breakfast, and then an espresso machine for all day. The pool is stunning and was very warm. The pool service was on point. We very much enjoyed Gaby's and the Georgia's Bistro for a couple meals. The lake was chilly, but bearable for the kids. They loved the playground and basketball court. We didn't use the indoor pool. The fitness center had a large offering of machines, and wasn't busy while we were there. One person golfed and said the course was great. One went to the spa, and loved that experience!

The weekend before memorial day is a great time to go. Not crowded and the weather is warm enough to hang out in the lovely pool. Overall a wonderful experience. Excellent service! Everyone we interacted with was helpful. We ate at three different restaurants and they were all wonderful. They even do the little things well: I mentioned we were going to split an appetizer, so they brought it on two plates. Well done! Loved the exercise facilities and indoor pool. One caution: our room was originally in the wing just past the registration desk (in the 330's) and it was loud. I bring this up as it happened also on a previous visit, so it wasn't a one-off, but perhaps a design issue of the building. They were great about moving us to a room in another wing that was wonderful. Would 100% visit again.

Very nice hotel! If you are a golf fan, thie is paradise. You have 7 fantastics courses. We spwcially love oconee course. And you have the kingdom, by taylar made. Every golfer could experience what pga pros do. Blake adams and his team make you feel special, evenyour are just a beginner in the game. You should definitly go for the club house. The food is very good, bit ashley and laura sre great. Polite, funny, and helpful, the are glad to make yout life easier, aleays with a smile on their faces. We definitly recommend tuis place, specially for golf lovers.

Went on a trip with my family of 3. The resort is beautiful; grounds are impeccable, rooms are great (a bit small and a touch dated maybe), beds are fantastic, everything is kid friendly, and there was plenty to do on property for 2 full days and 3 nights. We aren’t golfers, but spent most of our time doing activities around the property like fishing, kayaking, basketball, pool, etc. Food at Amor Del Lago was awesome. Gaby’s was fine. Great gluten free options across the board! Three things to be aware of: most families, especially around Memorial Day weekend, seemed to come in groups — and they tended to just let their kids kind of roam free. so if you’re a small family traveling alone or a couple, just know there are roving packs of kids all over the place (one group of literally 24 10-12 year olds has practically taken over the beach area one day while we were there) with very little supervision. They came and went from the adult pool as well. This is not the fault of the resort, but something to be aware of. I’m sure it was awesome for them! Second, service is very… uncoordinated maybe is the word? Lots of stuff that is meant to be behind the scenes is pretty front and center; you will often find groups of staff members talking about their shifts and how tired they are. When I was checking out I was surprised to hear the guest next to me have her (super high) charges announced to her verbally where I could hear … just a little bit clumsy. Turn down service came at all different times, requested someone make the twin bed in the room and nobody ever came — just a little bit rough around the edges. Nothing that ruined our experience. Last, the resort’s water sports partner, Young Harris, is astonishingly expensive and changes pricing from day to day. Just be aware and do your research before you come - there are lots of options on the lake!

We live in Atlanta and do staycations at this Ritz we love this property but hands down Travis who has been here year over year makes this experience with his service at the adults pool. He goes above and beyond. I am executive of Client Experience for my company so this type of service goes a long way with me. Also a shout out to Vita at the club level she was wonderful too. We will continue to come back for many more trips and years for a great relaxing weekend. This property is breathtakingly beautiful too:)

I can’t stop talking about how great this place is and how well it is managed. Absolutely gorgeous, lots to do, friendly staff and beautiful surroundings. Our room was clean, pretty, and beds are extremely comfortable. The restaurants are great, I love Gabbys, and the Italian one is also a favorite. Pool is excellent, Travis will take great care of you. I stayed there because my brother recently bought a house and I plan on visiting a few times a year. We rented a pontoon, the lake is so beautiful and peaceful. This Ritz and the staff are amazing. I’m returning in December. The Ritz does not disappoint!

In a few moments, I'll be unloading a dump truck's worth of praise for this hotel, but I think it's important to start this review with what I found to be the most memorable aspect of the hotel, which was how intent it was to maintain its unbelievably high standards when it didn't have to. When I stayed at this hotel, parts of it, such as the main lobby, were under renovation. Furthermore, I'm just estimating, generously, that there were 10 occupied rooms in the entire hotel, because I personally didn't see enough people to even occupy 5 rooms. The hotel could have absolutely told the few guests, "Hey sorry, the hotel is going through some renovations, so X, Y, and Z facilities and amenities will be out of operation for the duration." No one would have thought anything of it. Even if the few guests that were staying at the hotel did mind, there were so few guests that the collateral damage would have been easily recoverable. However, this hotel did not take that route. Every amenity that could operate normally was operating normally, and for every amenity that had to be displaced due to construction, there was an adequate replacement. The pool, which is absolutely enormous, was heated during normal operating hours everyday. I stayed at this hotel for 4 days. When I used the pool, no one else was ever in it. From my room I had a clear birdseye view of the pool. There was never anyone in it. I feel quite confident in saying I was the only person, day or night, to use this pool during the entire four days. Like I mentioned there were barely any guests at the hotel and it was pretty cold that week. Nevertheless, the hotel kept this giant pool heated, at a cost I can only imagine, for guests to use as normal. The fitness center was one of the facilities that was under renovation, so they built a very adequate temporary one. I'm assuming the normal lobby, which was under renovation, had a bar in it. Obviously, that one was out of commission, so they built a temporary bar in the new reception area. There's a nightly tradition of a s'mores station at the fire pit. This station was still operating as normal every night as scheduled for the few guests that were at the hotel. A staff member was there every night for two hours operating this s'mores station for the few guests who were at the hotel to still be able to enjoy despite it being cold and the hotel being close to empty. The hotel even printed wall coverings with the designs of the normal walls of the hotel to cover the construction areas so that as you walk by, it at least seems a little more normal and less disruptive to the eye. If this hotel is this committed to maintaining its high standards when there would be little consequence for temporarily lowering them, I can only imagine the quality of stay when the hotel is operating on all cylinders. I knew upon arriving on property that this stay would be overflowing with memorable aspects, but that this hotel was so adamant about maintaining its wor

The property was beautiful—lovely for outdoor walks. The ladies and gentlemen working there were very attentive to any needs we had—knowing when we wanted help and when we wanted privacy. The food and service in the restaurants contributed to our having a memorable weekend.

Thank you for making our stay a wonderful year end celebration for our family. From the warm welcome at check-in to the attentive team members throughout the resort, our kids feel like it’s coming home every time we visit.
