Hotel Heevan Retreat

Room was clean and in good condition. Food was very delicious.

Very nice hotel with friendly and professional staff! The hotel has a retro vintage feeling with the wooden cosy rooms. The lawn outside adds to the charm of the property. A special mention for Arif in the restaurant who made sure that we ate local Kashmiri delicacies in all our meals.

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights towards end of May. I would describe our stay as “average” at best. And if I were to consider it from value of money perspective (20k/night) — then certainly poor. Gulmarg in general is a breathtaking location, with some amazing views from different parts of the valley. In that context location of hotel is - decent, with some nice views of mountains in the backdrop. But nothing too mesmerising about the location. The best part about the location is its proximity to Gondola. You like or dislike a hotel - based on location, rooms, amenities and the over-all service you get. The location is decent, rooms are definitely in need of renovation, but it’s the other two factors and particularly the service which lets it down. I have stayed in hotels across various tourist locations, business locations and hence I am usually measured in my expectations on service. The sad part about Heevan Retreat was - you don’t get a feeling of being welcomed. The staff seems very indifferent. Examples: we requested an extra bed, the bed which we got had a broken wheel and hence it was not balanced. When we raised it - the default reaction of staff was - this is how it’s supposed to be. We had to really insist to get it changed. We were feeling cold one night - again when we requested the temperature to be increased (as it’s centrally controlled) the default response was it’s not cold. The empathy and warmth you expect in a hotel was simply missing. Proof of the pudding: when checking out every hotel front desk would ask you how was stay. That’s a basic courtesy question. Heevan front desk was not bothered to seek any such feedback. For the price point it charged - definitely avoidable.

Marvellous Hotel! Heevan Retreat is really made in heaven. It provided me with stargazing opportunities thanks to its beautiful position and efficient use of lightning. The hospitality of the staff cannot be described in words, keeping a perfect balance of professionalism and friendliness. The natural view from the hotel room windows made the hotel all the more better than others. The cherry on top was the pool area. Thanks to Mr. Quyam, for he taught us pool such that we can never forget how to play it.

We came here for a vacation with my family and friends, we were 26 people with 10 rooms, The hotel is very beautiful and close to the Gondola ride in Gulmarg. The rooms here are made of timber which gives a retro look and different experience. You can see the snow-capped mountains from the hotel. The food was simply superb and the staff was very friendly. Special thanks to Javid who took good care of our stay and made sure we enjoyed our stay, we reached the hotel late at night at 11.00 pm, and Javid made sure we got the hot dinner at that time too I recommend this place for your stay in Gulmarg.. will love to go again it is one of my best hotel

Best Location. Good Service, especially by Lateef as he was always available on call. Bed extremely soft ( but we have a habit of sleeping in semi soft beds ). One thing they need to improve on :- Water pressure in washroom. Overall: we liked the ambience , Location, Jain food and service.

What an amazing hotel !Loved the location,the service ,the food and the rooms. The restaurant served amazing Jain food and high quality and quantity Good service by Mr.Lateef Look no further if you are planning to stay at Gulmarg.The hotel is close to the Gondola .Good vegetarian spread for breakfast.Keep up the good work!

We came here for a vacation with our little daughter. The hotel is very beautiful and close to the Gandola ride in Gulmarg. The rooms here are made of timber which gives a really rustic and different experience. You can see the snow caped mountains from this hotel. The food was awesome and the staff are very friendly. Lateef took good care of our stay and arranged for a cake for our anniversary. I really recommend this place for your stay in Gulmarg

Good Decent Hotel. Staff is courteous especially Qayoom & Bashir. They helped us throughout. Food is good. Room is also decent. Location - close to gondola and walking distance to main spots. They have a indoor game area. Only Pool table available. Bonfire - they provide.
