Balmoral Resort Florida

Amazing! We gained the access codes the day before by emailing guest relations which our agent told us to do, we did have to pay charges but worked out cheaper to pay direct with tropical escapes over the email than theough our agent. Was informed pool heating will be 40 dollars a day which we declined (pool was chilly in the morning but come 12pm was super so didn’t need it after all) Arrived after 8pm to a spacious, clean villa, 4 beds and all were comfortable and rooms spotless! and ordered an Instacart to deliver 8/9am the next day for amenities like toilet roll/washing machine stuff etc! No problems with any deliveries for groceries or local take aways being delivered! No safe as was told but we didn’t need it, plenty of indoor and outdoor towels to be used which was stored in the cupboard with the washer/dryer! The local bar and grill was fantastic, didn’t eat there but plenty going on, friendly staff and easy to access within walking distance and closed 10pm latest so no noise came after there! There was bin days every Friday and cleaners/gardeners around twice a week to maintain the areas! Maximum time it took us to get to Disney was 40/50mins depending on times, rush hour times we avoided n got to the parks around 10.30/11 maybe later! Same to come back unless there was an accident which can’t be helped! Plenty of places to stop and eat on the way back too to split it up if needs be! Can’t recommend this place enough tbh!

Beautiful, spacious home with a private pool. It was worth the extra charge to heat the pool as we went in February and would have been too cold to swim and enjoy. Plenty of good restaurants close by. Close enough to Orlando/Kissimmee area to drive up for a day or two..

Advertised as close to parks, etc. The drive to visit parks was over an hour each way; there was a pool at the home, but not used as it was not heated. When i inquired about having it heated, i was told it could be heated for an additional $40 per day. I was billed $415 for a cleaning fee only to arrive to find the carpeting in the home, spotted and soiled. The beds were extremely uncomfortable, and the living room furniture was sagging. the dresser and entertainment cabinet in the home was made of glass and cracked. The dryer in the unit was not working properly and took multiple times to dry a load of clothes. Would not recommend this to anyone.

This was to be a great location. The property on the outside was ok, however the resort didn't have supplies (dish washer pods - 1 for the entire week, Toilet paper 1 per bathroom, a total of 6 bath towels & wash clothes for a three bedroom home, The dishwasher didn't work, the disposal didn't work & the tiles on the main level were cracked or they raised up.

Stayed here as my son had stayed when it was new and said it was great, although that was a few years ago now. Booked through Virgin and had no villa access details before we flew, had to chase with rep at MCO who had no clue and had to get in touch with Tropical Escapes who are horrendous. Got the code eventually and when we arrived after 8 due to Virgin changing morning flights to afternoon flights, the code didn’t work. Had to use phone on wall in unmanned reception to speak TE. Barely understood English and a full on disco in the club made it really difficult to hear. Had to wait nervously for a call back, getting later and later, but got a new code that worked. Found villa dirty and mirrored furniture cracked. Thick of dust. Dishwasher so thick of gunk l had to spoon out the filter and ***** it as water bars were clogged with black mould. Either that or wash dishes for whole holiday. Spent a fortune on cleaning products and time deep cleaning dishwasher. Pool sliding doors didn’t lock properly. Had a lift up makeshift aluminium bar to secure the villa and no safe anywhere. Complained to Virgin and TE, asked us to wait in for a maintenance call in a few days but refused to spoil our holiday and spend on expensive park tickets. They could’ve accessed in our absence but no one came and no contact. Heavy rain one day and the pool filled with insects washed from the netting. There was no scoop so we couldn’t skim or use the pool until it cleared. On arrival we also had to ask for more towels as not enough for all the family. Whilst the location seems reasonable for the parks the traffic is next level. Some days it took 2 hours and didn’t matter whatever the time of day, we tried different times and it felt like half our holiday was in the car. Villa is not equipped very well, needed to do a big household shop and needed to clean mouldy sealer in showers and stinking plugs. Left it cleaner than when we arrived! Related everything to Virgin and ended up with £300 refund after what was an £18,000 holiday. Do yourself a favour, stay nearer to the parks if that’s what you are there for but in any case do not stay at Balmoral. Virgin need to take this resort off their books.

So booked via Virgin and paid extra for this resort as not very old. What a mistake. This is not our first time in a villa more like 15 times. The villa was an absolute dump 177 Mitchell’s Manor. The furniture was a joke the kitchen had not enough cooking equipment to make a meal.The condition was disgusting and filthy. After complaining we got some kitchen equipment to be told that no one cooks here. So why have a villa. We like the freedom to eat better food instead of fast food. The resort should be gated but they are smashed off. There is a safe advertised on the Virgin website but they said sorry it’s an error but there is a safe it just does not work. Please book another area as this is truly a dirty resort unless it’s a residential home.

Some of the reviews worried us before we left however could not have been more wrong. Beautiful place lovely villa clean tidy and spacious. Welcomed with groceries and beautifully laid table. Issue with pool fixed next day, restaurant and entertainment amazing. Felt very safe here and helpful Staff. Only downside was traffic to the parks on occasion however worth a drive to a peaceful area with lots to do for kids :-) Thank you for a lovely stay

just returned from a 2 week stay at the Balmoral resort. The Villa was excellent (122 Macauleys Cove), very clean and spacious. The location was great for access to the theme parks, we also drove down to Miami for a couple of days. I would definitely recommend this resort.

The drive here on Aug. 5th was a bit from Universal Studios but quiet area. Upon arrival at 126 Macaulay's Cove the dishwasher was broken, pool lights don't work, water didn't dispense from refrigerator, blow dryer.broken, downstairs bathroom clogged, and carpet needs a good deep cleaning. The exit plan in case of an emergency was in the top kitchen cabinets above the stove. You only get one toilet roll per bathroom and 1 roll of paper towels in kitchen. You only get 1 set of towels. I called 5 days straight with complaint of the problems to fix. I don't know what the cleaning fee is for. All the items upon arrival were broken or damaged and no notification was given by the resort. Traffic is bad going back to Orlando. You will definitely need patience. The only thing that I got from Tropical Escape Vacations I will get in contact with management, someone or maintenance will contact you. No one didn't call not even the manager. I asked to refund me my remaining stay and I would leave. Manager still didn't call with a response. You book for all working items but you only get a display of non-working items. The water park is descent, gameroom, and fitness room is descent. Your neighbor lights working in their pool and kids don't understand why they can't swim in the dark. I had family and friends. Who goes away to wash dishes on vacation. Resort does nothing to accommodate for their shortcomings. I will never stay here again. Make you check out everything before wasting your money.
