Only 12min of walking (according to Google Map) from Hakone-Yumoto station, but turned out to be the hardest walk due to the incline for the last 5min of it. I don't want to exaggerate, but it felt like at least a 25 degrees angle and when you're dragging luggage up, you're going to need to take multiple breathers on that narrow road. If the taxi price is reasonable, I'd recommend taking the taxi from the station. The other review mentions a bus that goes to Azito Guesthouse, but we didn't know we needed it. Compared to this steep hill, getting our luggage up a narrow steep flight of stairs to our 3rd floor apar**ent was pretty easy; the friendly receptionist helped with 1 of our bags. The apar**ent itself was quite nice and spacious, with a kitchenette and balcony. There was no TV and we found the mattress a bit too soft. There was not enough room in the bathroom to hang old and new clothes at the same time. This apar**ent's nightly cost was about the same as our Kyoto hotel.
