Stayed here for 1 night in a single room, Saturday night. 5 min walk from the train station, 10 min to the Piece Hall & Victoria Theatre. Opposite the hotel is a shopping centre which has M&S (with Food & Cafe), Superdrug etc. I noticed a Burger King nearby, too. I was warmly welcomed by Jackie who showed me to my room, which was located in the eaves of this lovely old building. Given my keys & checkout info. Room was small with a single bed; little washbasin; bath towel/hand wash/mini shower gel & shampoo/conditioner/tissues. A new TV & kettle, with tea/coffee/milk/sugar. Single bed was clean with a decent mattress & fresh bedding, 2 pillows & a duvet. I think I was the first person to stay in the room as everything appeared to be new - the carpet was very clean. Velux window & blind. It's a rotten November night in Yorkshire - bucketing down but my room was cosy & warm. As a lone woman guest I felt very safe - I had a key for the front door, a code for the main guest door, and a key for my room which locked with a Yale lock. I think the pub part of the hotel offers food, but in have no info on this. There's a bathroom on each floor, with a shower/toilet/washbasin/bathmat/ hand soap/hand towel/toilet paper. It was very clean. There's also a separate toilet room which unfortunately wasn't very clean on this occasion, so I didn't use it. The hotel was fully booked but there was minimal noise from other guests. WiFi details in room & connection was perfect. Checkout is 10am; leave key in a box in the lobby. There's a phone number in case you need help out of hours. For £36, I was more than happy with my stay and would definitely book again.
