These are well fitted out, comfortable cabins. The king size dbl bed was very comfortable, lounge was also very good & the kitchen was very well equipped. However, the same cannot be said for the grounds. It was untidy, very poorly maintained & if you wanted to spend some time outside, you had to go somewhere else. It appears this establishment is for sale & the owners just can't be bothered to make the exterior look presentable. A few plastic outdoor chairs in an overgrown area don't really tempt anyone to use them . Pity really because the cabins are really very comfortable. We will not be back.

Amazing stay ! We stayed 7 nights. Fab contactless arrival and departure! ( phone number for management provided though if you do happen to need) this was perfect for us. Very large bed, bath and shower, the fireplace is a lovely touch. Kitchen very good we stayed in and cooked a few nights and very ample fridge/freezer room. Walking distance to town (2 min drive), lots of wild life around and our first morning whilst making a coffee there was a kangaroo and baby joey right outside our kitchen window 😍. Great location, for visiting wineries, the zoo, lookout points ect. Had a fab stay and will certainly be back again soon ! Thank you.

Dreadful. The two things that attracted us to this place were the fireplace and the spa. Ok I'll buy my own wood, if you're too damn tight, at $250 a night, to supply any. BUT there was no lighter or matches. No paper. No kindling, and a begrudging conversation on the helpline that just directed us to the local store. So we thought ok, we'll start up the heater. But it doesn't work. It will blow cold air across the bed but the heater will not engage. Then we went to have a hot spa as compensation for the lack of a fire or any heat, but there was no hot water. None. Cold as a witches proverbial. So we thought OK, we'll just go to bed. But sleep was out of the question since the bathroom fan has no 'off' switch and sounds like the M7 going past your bedroom. Anyway. thanks for a crap stay, bad service, defective appliances, lack of care and attention, and no assistance. Never again.

Our second stay at Heatherlie, we love the close proximity to town, yet you would not know it was peak tourist season. The bush land setting and native fauna make the stay secluded and quiet. The cottage was clean and well appointed. Perfect home away from home accomodation.

Was so happy with our stay here. It was quiet, clean and comfortable as well as being just a few minutes by car to the village of Halls Gap. The room was very spacious as was the bathroom, the air con very effective. Having only four cottages, they are nicely spaced out so you don’t have neighbour noise. Loved the wallabies grazing in the mornings in the yard. Couldn’t ask for more, would happily return. The only disappointment was only staying two nights. Next time.... (PS pick up groceries in Ararat if coming from Melbourne)

Spacious room with everything we needed. Close to everything, but far enough away to feel private.
