Walked in around 9:30pm. Payed through booking and when I approached I was told there is a mandatory CASH ONLY 50 dollars deposit. I only had a credit card for deposit. He reluctantly said okay whatever and took my id. After taking my id, he said the card that booking provided declined (their card, not mine) and so I called booking and they put me on hold while they called the hotel. The front desk answered and then walked to the back, just enough to where things were muffled but I could still hear him. He then went on a rant to the booking representative about how I wouldn’t pay the deposit and that it’s a “headache” to him that he would have to retry the card. After about 15 minutes of waiting, he hangs up and says “reservation is canceled sir” and gave me my id and said that it’s “policy” to cancel the reservation if the card declines 3 times. That’s a lie. Once the booking person came back she said that he told her that I wouldn’t pay the deposit and that he didn’t wanna have to deal with retrying my card. She told me as well that she tried to offer to give him a new payment method and he refused and just canceled the reservation. I’m now without a hotel or any money for a hotel just because some guy didn’t wanna deal with the “headache” of retrying bookings card.
