渡口有小巴接送，酒店就在紅葉谷公園入口，門口就有小溪庭院，隔壁就是通往公園纜車的免費巴士，走到嚴島大社僅需3分鐘步行距離，太適合扶老攜幼入住。 酒店歷史悠久，牆上掛滿名人到訪照片。泡温泉時還能偶遇小鹿。工作人員態度熱情英文ok，客人以老外和長者居多。放心去住不會踩雷~ 注意不能穿着浴衣去嚴島大社哦！

I never write reviews but Iwaso was unforgettable for so many reasons - it was an awesome traditional ryokan/onsen experience and so incredibly toddler friendly. The food was great and the customer service wonderful. 11/10 recommend.

Amazing food and a traditional Japanese experience but it is disappointing that the staff in general lack charm and warmth. Not at all friendly and as they barely whisper it is difficult to hear them behind the thick face masks. Would come back but only for the food

Beyond excellence. Our first contact with Iwaso was perfect, they assured us by email that they could cater for our dietary restrictions (we are a celiac and a vegetarian). When we arrived at the port, we called Iwaso at the information point and they picked us up in a private vehicle. All the staff were friendly, willing to help and efficient. When we checked in, they took our luggage to our room. Then, they served us some green tea and local pastries and explained the operation of the hotel (timetable for dinner, breakfast and onsen, how to wear a yukata...). While we were having dinner, they put the futons in the room. The room exceeded our expectations, we had a view to the nearby nature reserve, surely even more beautiful in autumn (there were momiji trees everywhere). The onsen was fantastic. We went at night and it was almost empty. We spent the most of the time in the outside pool, next to a river. Absolutely relaxing and quiet. Also, if you want to try traditional food, this is the place to go. We had 9 dishes for dinner and 11 for breakfast, very different from anything we had eaten before, and adapted to our dietary needs. In short, we would like to repeat the experience.

We traveled in a party of 4, with 2 adults and 2 children. The ryokan is excellent, but I used previous ryokan experience in Japan (Takayama, Shirakawa, etc) as a reference to my grades. The GOOD: extremely polite and helpful staff. Location in the woods, a 10-minute walk from Itsukishima Shrine and the ropeway. Impeccable cleanliness and organization. Food in dinner and breakfast were very good, with amazing presentation (they serve fixed courses included in the price). Onsen (common) was also good and highly recommended - they explain etiquette and how to use. The OK: room was comfortable and we slept on the tatame (they make de futton beds for you during dinner). The "BAD": all in all, this ryokan is extremely pricey, since it's located in an island with few options and has historical value. The experience is good, but we expected more.

The hotel was great but we could not book dinner on both the nights we were there and there are really limited places to eat on the islands. Staff were nice but not that helpful. The room was lovely and basic as expected. The onsen were lovely

We loved Iwaso. Spent one night in the main building and two nights in the new building. The staff were very friendly and most welcoming (we do not speak any Japanese). Highlights include the onsen (very clean and relaxing), the central location (near the hiking trails/shops/restaurants/shrines), and the food both at Iwaso and in town. This is a special place with special staff!

You must stay here! The natural beauty of Miyajima is perfectly accented and accentuated by this classic hotel. Being in the outdoor onsen bath looking into the woods is one of our favorite parts of this whole trip.
