This is a beautiful lodge with excellent customer service. The food was terrific. We ate there for dinner and breakfast. For dinner, they make a point of saying that it is able to accommodate all guests and reservations are not necessary unless you want a specific time. I would highly recommend you make a reservation. When we checked in, they let us know the only tables left for that evening started at 8pm, which was a little late for us, but we had no choice at that point. At 10pm the astronomer on site did a talk in the observatory on property, and we were so lucky that the northern lights began dancing in the sky after he began his talk. Everyone went outside to photograph them and they were spectacular. We went back inside the hotel at one point to get warm and realized they had put out hot chocolate and they also lend snow suits to guests to wear when viewing the sky. These were two wonderful perks. We saw a fantastic display of the northern lights that night and felt so fortunate. The hotel offers a wake up call if you go to bed early and want to know when the lights are visible. Other nice touches the hotel has are: a personal welcome note, chocolates at bedtime, a postcard you can write and they will mail for you anywhere in the world, and fresh roses on the table in the room. For us, it was well worth the price.
