Clifftop at Hepburn

Aside from the view and comfortable bed it was very average and certainly not worth what we paid When we arrived the flowers were half dead, the ashtray at the front door was overflowing, we had booked for 4 adults and the glasses and crockery was a mishmash of odds and ends, the most impressive thing was the rule book that read like youth detention centre In the book they state bath robes are not supplied due to Covid does that mean you don’t wash them between guests what about the linen and throw rugs, we then called to ask about ice and were told they don’t supply ice because guests were taking it outside and then returning it to the fridge with gravel and dirt so I asked if they had some ice trays and was told no because guests steal them The final nail in the coffin was the abrasive cleaner when we were leaving , never said good morning or how was your stay What a disappointment it certainly was not 5 star maybe 3

I recently booked to stay at Clifftop at Hepburn which was advertised at this address at point of booking and on the booking confirmation - 211 Main Road, Hepburn Springs, 3461, Australia. However, the day before I was due to check in they sent me details for accommodation at this address - 5A Howe St Daylesford. I found this very misleading as I had booked the accommodation as i wanted to be somewhere quiet out of town. And this location was right in the heart of town. When I queered the change in address I received very abrupt, rude and dismissive messages from the manager. She accused me of wanting a free upgrade and harassing her which wasn’t the case. I was very happy with the room. But the location advertised was very misleading. I’m disappointed and it really put a damper on a special and very expensive night away. Be careful what room you book!

We Loved the villa it was very luxurious and we received complimentary champagne which as really lovely , however the communication from owners was not great as it stated on web Page when booking check in was at 2 pm but then recieved an email saying it is 3 pm check in .Would have been lovely to have 11 am check out as we were rushed to get out at 10 am being told cleaners would be waiting to get in there to clean . Would happily stay again in the future if it was later check out time .

loved the experience. its romantic and great for families alike. The view is amazing, - The bathrooms are very nice, with a great jacuzzi and 2 showers in one and a very nice bath tub in the other. - Both bedrooms have a great view. - Sitting areas are comfortable. - and everything else works well. great wifi (important because Daylesford has poor 3G connectivity), great kitchen, Tesla charger (if you need it) and lovely fireplace - Overall a great experience.

Second time visiting Clifftop at Hepburn, like the first time this accommodation has not disappointed. Unfortunately our stay was short due to a severe thunderstorm which left the town with no power. Management was more than happy to refund us the last night without needing to jump any hoops

Such a beautiful clifftop villa and very luxurious. Perfect stay for couples. We loved the views and it was a very relaxing place to stay in. The spa and masssge chair was a great hit.

We stayed at the Sahara villa. I’ll start with the positives - The view and location is beautiful, the snacks were also a lovely touch and the decor is lovely. However, There were only two towels for a three day stay for two people and no washing machine. The back screen door fell off with the wind. The glasses weren’t clean. The place makes so much noise at night, I’m guessing from the wind blowing through it, that we couldn’t sleep and there is no blind on the massive upstairs window so as soon as the sun rises, you have the sun shining directly at you so no chance of a sleep in. The wifi was also intermittent to the point that we couldn’t get through a movie. I wouldn’t recommend staying at the the Sahara villa.

5 years ago we looked at booking Clifftop at Hepburn for a special treat and it was booked out a year in advance… this time we booked in within a month and we can see why there was so much availability. We are so utterly underwhelmed and disappointed! My partner booked a weekend in the Paris villa, with ALL the extras! One of which being the Lovebirds Romance Package a described as “A romance package of George Clooney proportions…” It was more like Adam Sandler proportions! As purchased, on arrival, there was champagne, strawberries, roses, chocolates, however NO hot bath, NO music, NO mood lighting and NO plus much more… did we really receive half of our package? Yes we did! Let down, but moving along, we began to notice how dirty and worn the Villa was. I don’t think a duster has been used in this place for months!!! Dust and cobwebs were everywhere, plus dirty wall art, grotty walls and a half cleaned bath. What a turn off! Rugs are so worn and daybed cover comes off at the sides. Onto the bed… Extreme discomfort!! Unless you enjoy rolling into the middle of the mattress, this was the most uncomfortable nights sleeps we have ever had. So bad that I tried to sleep on the couch at one point. Plus the bed is advertise as a king, smallest king bed we have ever seen. Two nights on this bed has resulted in very sore backs. We had to replace the batteries in the fairy lights above the bed to see the effect as originals were flat. One cheese knife available to use with the platter we purchased as an extra (that we had to make ourselves) and nothing sharp to cut salami etc. Kmart mugs for coffee, not enough toilet paper, one towel each for the whole weekend.. The view was ok, but nothing special! Was this luxury and worth $500 a night alone in accommodation costs? HELL NO!!! Do we wish we stayed somewhere else with pure luxury?? HELL YES!!! Will be we back? HELL NO!! Have we contacted the owner regarding these issues? HELL NO! Read the other reviews and you’ll understand why!

Gorgeous views, amazing decor. Very luxurious and peaceful. Definitely recommended
