Tropical House - Jungleside Villa

Only the worst place I have stayed in Sri Lanka. German lady who owns the property, don’t expect true Sri Lankan hospitality their. She doesn’t allow local people to book the hotel. People who worked their treated as slaves and pay 1500 lkr per day no food. You get unfiltered water, dirty towels plus there is no tea bags anything or cattle in the room. Beds are quite high, our washroom was blocked. We had stressful situation all the time.

We stayed at the Tropical House as closure of a two week visit at Sri Lanka with the intention of relaxing and enjoying the last few days in the beautiful country. And relaxing it was. Besides the beautiful and clean rooms, the building itself, the quietness, the private swimming pool and nature, there were also the very lovely people welcoming us and taking care of us. The beach is about 15’ walk from The Tropical House and lets you enjoy a bit extra of the nature and surroundings. I can only recommend this place.

We got two rooms: one double and one triple. The triple room was awesome and very spacious. It was calm, quiet, and relaxing. Our 2-year-old loved the room and the garden. We had rice and curry for lunch, and it was the best—the food was great! This is a very nice place to relax and hang out with your family. The only issue we had was with the pool. It starts at 5 ft deep and goes up to 6 ft. If you’re of average height and cannot swim, you can't really enjoy the pool. Also, there is no kids' pool, so we had to sit on the steps with our son for him to enjoy his pool time. I wish they had a proper kids' pool. Additionally, I wouldn't recommend their double room. It was not as spacious as the triple room, and there was a very inconvenient column in the middle. The bed was also too high, about 4 ft, making it difficult to sit on. We had to literally jump to get on the bed, which was not safe for our child. Other than that, the stay was nice.

Amazing place . Have a great representative staff . Karen - book keeper , have an awesome and wonderful character. She will be coming each morning to make sure that all good and you are okay with all your needs each day . Taranga - house keeper , amazing and beautiful woman. Her morning tea is unbelievable testy . Nadisha - room cleaner buetuful and funny ) Ruchira - driver , will take you whatever you need . Nimal - taking care about buety of garden day by day . Silva - security Nadishe - handsome and very friendly, administrator Highly recommended!

The perfect home away from home. Beautiful surroundings with beautifully kind and helpful people. Nothing is too much trouble. Rooms & bathrooms are gorgeous and luxurious and the beds are perfect. Not to mention the food, glorious food cooked lovingly. Tropical House is a dream come through. Martina

We loved our stay here! The place is magical and truly feels like an oasis in the South. The staff and Kerstin were extremely hospitable and accommodated all our needs. The food was delicious and so so fresh! Thanks for making our stay memorable. Can’t wait to be back!

I stayed at Tropical House for several weeks and it was a wonderful time. A long-term stay was no problem, as the rooms are perfectly equipped, you can have laundry done and even work is no problem thanks to fast Wi-Fi. I especially liked the design and aesthetics of the Tropical House - simply a beautiful place. You can relax in the large, well-kept garden and spend time outside even when it rains, thanks to the covered terraces. I had no problems communicating with Kerstin and the staff in English and/or German. If you want, you can get lots of tips on what to do in the area or which bar on the beach is the best. However, Tropical House also has a small but fine restaurant where they cook fresh food for you. I was particularly impressed by the fact that the staff adapts very individually to all guests so that even special eating habits or other extra requests are no problem...

Wie die Überschrift es verrät, mussten wir nach den ersten Statusbildern, auf die Frage ob wir im Paradies seien, nur mit einem klaren JA antworten. Überall sieht man so viel Geschmack und Liebe zum Detail. Und nicht nur das, nichts wirkt herunter- oder in die Jahre gekommen. So viel Botanik, mitten in der Natur muss natürlich gut unterhalten werden. Alles scheint als wäre es erst fertig geworden. Das gesamte Personal super freundlich und zuvorkommend, es herrscht eine insgesamt familiäre Atmosphäre. Wir haben schon einige Ecken bereist, aber diese Unterkunft kommt vom Gesamteindruck auf die nr1. Das nächste Mal Sri Lanka, kommen wir sicher wieder! Danke für alles! Kateryna und Vladimir

Wir durften unseren Urlaub im Tropical House verbringen. Es hat all unsere Erwartungen übertroffen. Vom ersten Augenblick waren wir von der Herzlichkeit und der angenehmen Atmosphäre begeistert. Die Villa ist wunderschön eingerichtet, wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Blick in den Jungle und auf den Pool. Besonders begeistert waren wir von der Lage es sind nur wenige Minuten zum traumhaft schönen Strand von Hikkaduwa mit all den netten kleinen Bars und Geschäften. Chefköchin Tharanga geht morgens auf den Markt und kauft die frischen regionalen Zutaten um das Abendessen zuzubereiten, wir lieben die Küche im Tropical House wir haben stets sehr fein gegessen. Kerstin die Chefin vom Tropical House stand uns immer mit Rat und Tat zur Seite, wo ist der Strand am schönsten- was können wir im Hochland unternehmen und besichtigen- Kerstin hat uns die Geheim-Tipps verraten. Wir durften das Paradies auf Erden finden und einen unvergesslich schönen Urlaub erleben. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder ins Tropical House. Danke noch mal an Kerstin und das gesamte Team.
