Booked a private room at this accommodation, with the option to pay on arrival. Two days before arriving they phoned wanting me to give credit card details over the phone & pay a deposit. This seemed like it could be a scam so I refused, they told me it was no problem. We arrived at 9pm, the receptionist did not even acknowledge us & we had to ask if she worked there. Once we'd given our details she very bluntly told me that they cancelled our booking because we wouldn't give card details & pay a deposit directly to them, then point blank refused to interact with me when I was asking where else we could go. Left us stranded at night in an unfamiliar city & refused to provide even the most basic assistance. To top things off, they then marked us a no-show with the booking platform. I can't say for sure that they were trying to scam me asking for card details but it certainly wasn't right, they could have asked for payment up front through the booking platform but chose not to. They also could have informed me that my refusal to pay a deposit would mean the booking was cancelled, instead of leaving us in the situation they did.
