Ukuthula Bush Lodge

This is the perfect place for nature lovers who also want real comfort and luxury. The lodge is exquisitely decorated and it was a pleasure to sit with a coffee and watch bush bucks, warthogs, kudu and all types of birds come into the garden. Walking around the lodge I came close to giraffes, zebras and more. It was breathtaking. I stayed for 2 blissful nights and enjoyed delicious home cooked meals, a wonderfully comfortable bed and hot baths each day. I hope to come back in future!

My husband and I loved our stay at Ukuthula! We stayed in the hornbill room which was very comfortable, private and cozy including a king-size bed with mosquito netting, bathtub, indoor and outdoor shower. Breakfast and dinner were included everyday and offered a wide variety of choices for breakfast. On a few occasions, we were happily greeted by several wildlife guests within view of the breakfast area, including hornbills, nyalas and duikers. Each dinner was better than the last, and every meal was absolutely delicious! The lodge is located within the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate - I highly recommend going for a walk within the estate! We walked into town for lunch one day and another day to Unembeza Spa- both times seeing zebra and giraffes along the way! All of our game drives were organized by the lodge and were a lovely experience on the Pridelands Reserve in the greater Kruger area. In between game drives, we enjoyed lounging by the pool with a wide variety of drinks from the bar! Nights ended by the fire with excellent views of the stars. Wish we could've stayed forever. There is a great amount of passion in every detail of this place from the decor to the friendly staff, everything was perfect. Thank you, Fabian, Floriane and Ukuthula Family for a wonderful stay!

Following a warm welcome, Fabian, Karine, Maé, Floriane and their team looked after us and attended to our every need. Being on a business trip, these were not necessarily what they are used to. All transfers, late meals, bush drives and more were looked after with no fuss. The rooms are spacious and have all mod cons. The food is delightful and the bar well-stocked. Thank you for an excellent few days and we impatiently look forward to our next visit.

As a family of 5 adults we had an absolutely lovely 24 hours at Ukuthula Bush Lodge in mid-April - our only regret was that we wish we had stayed longer. One day was not enough. The rooms, two in the main building and one separate cottage, were simply fantastic and the pool area and terraces are very comfy and well-maintained. The private reserve is large and has several tracks and paths for walking with many zebras, giraffes, impala and warthogs ambling about; it was probably the best morning run location I've ever had. Staff were all so very helpful and kind. Great value for money.

The hotel is located in a private reserve shared with a few other hotels, Airbnb homes, and private residences. The reserve is very large and fenced, which makes it safe. It is also home to many beautiful animals such as giraffes, zebras, and impalas, among others — no dangerous animals, though. Recommend you take a walk through the property, it's very peaceful. The rooms are very good, with great space and an excellent bathroom that includes both indoor and outdoor showers. The room and hotel décor and furniture are beautiful. Great staff, great food, great rooms. The hotel handled and scheduled our safari game drives for us, which made everything easy. They also offered many different experiences to choose from. The owners were always available to answer questions and ensure we were having a great experience.

This beautiful bush Lodge is so perfect. We stayed one night on our way to Karongwe and the service and welcome were second to none, and the accommodation was stunning. The staff are extremely friendly, and the owner Fabian and his wife are just lovely. The decor is amazing, there is an outdoor & indoor shower and the animals roam freely outside your windows. We sat with a bottle of wine on the upstairs terrace and watched wildlife coming to the water hole. The sounds of the bush are so magical. We went out walking and saw giraffe, warthog, zebra and plenty birds, during daytime. We sat at the hide near the big water hole and saw the animals and birds who were unaware we were there. The meals were superb and very reasonably priced and the finishing touches in the room like the liqueur and water decanter were appreciated. Everything very clean and well maintained. We will return for sure. Thank you Fabian and your team it was a delight.

Lovely lodge. Beautiful and quiet surroundings. Rooms are big, clean, quiet with private outdoor space. Bed was amazingly nice. The outdoor space is lovely,. It is really nice to spend some time outside to relax.The staff is super friendly and helpful. Meals and breakfasts are very good, varied and quite generous. Everything is done so you enjoy your stay.

We had the most peaceful time at Ukuthula, the home made food and the peaceful atmosphere and the kindness of staff made our trip so enjoyable

We stayed only one night before our trip into Kruger. You could easily stay here a week or more. The lodge is in Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate which is a gated estate set in a bush environment with giraffe, zebra, antelope, warthog roaming freely. Half of the estate is set aside for walking and biking trails along a few waterholes. It truely is amazing to go for a walk and encounter these animals on foot. The lodge has a bush outlook with a lovely restaurant overlooking pool out to the bush. We saw so many birds as well as antelope in the lodge area. We stayed in a stand alone chalet was was just beautiful and luxurious and decorated to reflect the african bush. Bed was super comfortable and you could open front glass doors fully so you could lie in bed and look out to bush. Also had an outdoor shower as well as inside bath. Fabien and Floriane were wonderful hosts and they do offer a huge range of activities to do in the area , such as game drives locally and in Kruger, hotair ballon trips, quad bikes, visits to wildlife rehabilitation centers and more! We had the most wonderful 3 course menu in their restaurant -food was absolutley delicious! Breakfast also was just fabulous overlooking bush and watching all the birds and antelope. I wish I could live there! We will be back next year!
