I should have listened to reviews and not booked here. I had a terrible check-in experience that started when I walked in and there was music blasting and people cheering from what I assume is a bar and said “Wow, it’s really noisy in here” and he immediately rudely told me it wasn’t. Then he made an offhand comment that “everyone wants a King room, but you can’t have one.” I had booked and paid for a King and thought he was kidding, until I got to the room and saw it was a double. I asked for a luggage cart as I was traveling back from Christmas halfway across the country and had a lot of luggage filled with presents and clothing. He told me my room “wasn’t conducive to a luggage cart” and that I would have to just take what I need and leave the rest in my car. I’m sure if my car had been broken into and thousands of dollars of items stolen, I would have been told it wasn’t the hotel’s responsibility. When I left for my room, I realized there was no elevator anywhere near me. After consulting a fire plan map, I saw there was only one and it was on the opposite side of the hotel, and this is a large hotel. I had to lug my bags up the stairs and realized that’s what he meant about the cart. The room was OK, but the walls and floor were dirty and the paint was peeling. I felt very unsafe as a woman alone in this hotel. There had to be at least a dozen men just sitting outside alone smoking at every entrance and I was put in an “attached room.” Check out employee was very nice.
