The Hopton Crown

We met friends at the Hopton Crown on a Saturday evening as it was a good halfway house between both of us. The room was clean and comfortable although you had to mind your head in the bathroom! The duvet was quite thick so it was a bit warm at times although there was a fan. There was some noise from the road but not too bad that we couldn't sleep. We ate at the pub in the evening and the menu was limited. We all had the scotch egg followed by fish and chips which was massive!! It was tasty but would have been better if it had been a bit smaller. The breakfast was disorganised and service a bit haphazard/slow. The food was reasonable although they had run out of mushrooms! We would consider returning but may look at other options first.

Room was comfortable although shower was very weak. At breakfast was told to pick a table and help yourself to cereal etc. After 20 minutes we had not been offered coffee or tea or even been acknowledged so made some toast. Waitress engaged with people who had just walked in but still ignored us. Obviously no clue how to monitor who comes in and out. Got fed up and left after half an hour as we had somewhere to go. Won't be returning.

The room was lovely nice comfortable room with bath. We also had a great evening meal. The breakfast on the other hand was completely the opposite….it started off ok brought us the menu and coffee but we were then left there for about an hour so we went up to the bar to explain what we would like by the time the breakfast came it was cold and tasteless! Cheap ingredients! The waitress was miserable and the young lad serving obviously didn’t want to be there. Could be well worth the money but breakfast service needs some attention very disappointed

Room basic needs a bit of tlc. Knife was broken no pan in the oven to cook with. Evening meal shocking asked for med to well done steak and the blood was running round the plate. Had poached egg for breakfast had to spit if out as all I could taste was white vinegar. 2nd time staying here. The chef needs to go and they need to reevaluate there menu cause the one on their website is nothing like the one you get.

Great location in middle of countryside The rooms are very spacious and the Bathroom was nice and clean with good water pressure Large comfy bed and tv included Provided kettle for tea and coffee in room Stayed one night and included breakfast Lots of parking Has wifi Menu for dinner is limited but pizza was very tasty

Arrived and was greeted by chairissa perfect customer service unlike the bar lady on the saturday afternoon who looked at us as we had just been dragged in off the street not a guest , the room was sub standard needs a proper paint not white wash as the paint was flaking not just our room but around the hotel , bed was very low , no heating , shower was good but unfortunately the pump for every other room must of been next too ours as we were woke up both mornings at 6.30 with an absolute racket , no where to put your clothes except 3 hangers , no hair dryer , then we did book in for an evening meal on the saturday but the menu we were given by the bar staff in the afternoon changed 30 mins later and was very limited so we went to ludlow , when we came back the bar was closed at 9:30 on a saturday night no warning of this or poster to say why , the breakfast was the best part of the stay and the customer service of the young lady charrisa other than that it was a very poor stay could of gone to a travelodge for a better room won’t be going again

We’ve just had a one night stay to catch up with family. We loved it! Great Friday evening vibe in the bar with yummy beer. Young staff all very welcoming and friendly. Clean and very comfortable room with excellent bed. Dinner was not cheap but we loved every course. Breakfast was tasty with quality ingredients and great coffee. Our overall bill for the stay was £214 which included lots of drinks and a hearty dinner - great value for the quality, we felt. Will be back and highly recommend.

We were well looked after,staff friendly room lovely wonderful power shower and big, breakfast amazing local ingredients the home made marmalade was to die for and we brought some to take home. evening meal was delicious and so well presented we enjoyed our stay and we will return the the new year thank you to everyone for looking after us so well.

It's a lovely building, unfortunately the heating system was not geared up for the very cold weekend we spent there. Heating was set to come on for an hour morning and evening. Due to age, there is no double glazing. On our second day we were give an electric heater. The breakfasts were great, set is up for a day out. The staff were friendly, we felt welcome, it would be 👍 t to stay late Spring or Summer. We cut out stay by a day and went home, where we can control the warmth on freezing cold days! .
