„Location of the hotel is great. I came from Hiroshima. The journey is very long. I stayed 3 nights here. Breakfast was kinda okay, they have alot of spread. I paid for 1 x breakfast at 3300 yen. Personally i feel the price can be lower. Afew items to highlights were Tempura prawn, mentaiko, corn soup, soba and grilled beef. They have welcome drink (tea/coffee/soft drinks) for certain hours. Topup 1000 yen you can get unlimited alcohol. The location of the hotel is excellent, close to the station. And also they have 2 properties . Next to each other. There’s 6 laudry machines. A sky pool, sauna and indoor bath (onsen). I can see the hotel emphasis/uses alot of technology . Your door card can be paid for many things (laundry and vending machine) including partner restaurants outside the hotels. Where you can charge the expenses to your room. There’s a touch pad in the room, for you go control lighting, air conditioning , check hotel information and even control the TV. The only downside is the touchpad is very bright. It takes too long for it to go into idle mode. The cast and mirroring was lagging for me. As for the wifi, i find it weird that it only allows in my room. I had not as for the hotel wide wifi, not sure if there’s one. The room wifi was okay. The pool on the roof was great . You can see almost the whole beppu. Sadly I did not take photos of it. It was very chill . I would definitely stay here again just for the pool and onsen. The room clothes hangers were kinda little. There’s only 4 of them. The ice machine is at L2 inbetween the fitness center and the laundry. I would like to suggest to relocate it. As it is located directly next to the smoking room. And both times I am there to collect the ice with the cup provided, I almost out of breath from the cigarette. The Washing machine had locking mechanism on it, so other guests would not take your clothes. Select checkout was brilliant, they have 2 counters for it. I ate a breakfast, did 2 laundry and one vending machine. It was calculated perfectly. The staff at the reception were very helpful . Overall the stay was good! Will stay again if I am in Beppu. „I had a great time at Kannawaen with my family recently! We booked 2 rooms at Superior Japanese Western Room With Open Air Bath, with breakfast option. Parking was easy and spacious, everyone at the hotel was very kind and professional, room was very nice, clean, warm with nice views. I don't have much complaints except for check-out was done through a machinery method and the hotel only had one machine at the check-out area. FYI they also had employees who could speak English, which was great for forigners!”

„The check-in process was smooth. There was no room card provided; instead, I was given a password to access my room, which was stated on a formal document. Be sure to take a photo of the password and keep it safe, as you’ll need it throughout your stay. Since there is no room card, there is also no formal check-out process—simply vacate the room by your designated check-out date and time. The room was spacious and well-equipped with full amenities, including a water dispenser, clothes-hanging space, a balcony, a TV, and a bathtub. There was no housekeeping service during my stay, so you’ll need to keep the room clean yourself. However, the hotel staff kindly placed fresh towels and new amenities in a basket outside the room daily for guests to use. The hotel is located near Beppu Station, although it requires a bit of walking to get there. A Don Quijote (Donki) store is conveniently located just opposite the hotel. For convenience stores, you’ll need to walk a little further in the direction of Beppu Tower. The hotel also offers a welcome drink at the lobby and has coin-operated laundry dryers on the first floor. Additionally, there is a washing machine available in the room. Overall, I would recommend staying at this hotel.”

„A lovely relaxing hotel right on the Beppu beach road. There was a definite air of old seaside town about the place and it was very chill - the onsen in the hotel itself was very nice and wasn't at all busy when we were there. The breakfast however did get quite crowded with tour groups so going down later worked the best for us - if you had to go in peak time there was often a queue. The room was compact but very comfortable and had all the things needed for a comfy stay. Staff were lovely and the japanese pj's provided we're a nice touch. Fantastic location for traveling around beppu as well as arriving from Fukuoka and leaving to Oita airport. The hotel is right next to both bus stops.”

„The hotel is situated 15 minutes taxi ride from the Beppu station. So we have nowhere to go that night. But it's good enough to have hotspring and drinks in the hotel. The staff is very polite and can explain what you can do in English. Then you were lead to the room and tips rejected. We booked the Kaiseki dinner and breakfast. The dinner time is either 6pm or 6:30pm and the breakfast time 8am or 8:30. The dinner is good but maybe my expectation is quite high, it didn't reach my expectation, especially for the sashimi. For the onsen, there are 4 private onsens and 2 public. One of the private onsens is closed. Therefore we can use 3. You can use the private onsen when it is not occupied. Just lock the door and turn the plate to the other side. But all the onsen are closed by 12 midnight. And there is a room with free flow beer and soda, but it closes at 10pm. Don't drink beer before taking hotspring. There is also an onsen in our room which can be used anytime. It's hot at night but not so hot in the next morning. Overall, the view is good. The staff is good. The food is good (just not so great) and the onsens are good. Beppu is a good place to stay a few days more”

„I stayed in Beppu for 4 nights, trying different onsens at different hotels.Tsuruta was my last Beppu hotel. Although the room i stayed in is rather dated and items worn out, all necessary equipment are working very well, i stayed at a newer 4.5 star hotel prior and the air-conditioner, hair dryer and toilet exhaust were noisy and faulty, while in the older Tsuruta where everything works well! This don't judge a book by its cover, older hotels is just as good! I've attached a photo of the park and harbour view from my room at Tsuruta.”

„깔끔한 내부와 편안한 욕탕덕에 즐겁게 지냈습니다. 노천탕이 특히나 좋았고 좋은 숙소였습니다. 청결도의 경우 세면대 쪽의 이물질이 청소가 덜 되어 있었습니다. 그걸 제외하곤 정말 깔끔한 숙소였습니다.”

„セミダブル3台の部屋に大人5人で泊まりました。リビングは広くて、畳の上で座椅子に座りながら全員くつろげる空間です！目の前にスーパーがあるので、お菓子やお酒を買って、部屋でゆっくりできるのがよかったです。 たまごボーロが少し落ちてたのでそこだけ気になりましたが他は綺麗で過ごしやすい宿です。また、無人チェックインなので、到着時間を気にしなくていいのも楽ちんでした！”

„The location is pretty good because it’s private. It’s suit for guest comes with the car. About 15 mins drive to downtown. The room was big with private onsen, clean and simple. The facility is only the public onsen, which is indoor with no view. The breakfast is quite basic, the taste could be more outstanding.”
