Auberge Chez Denis à François

As our boat to the Island's did not dock until a bit past 7pm. My wife and I were concerned about checking in and still having time to find a place to have dinner. Our worries were soon put aside as the receptionist was fantastic. He informed us that we could dine there as he was also our waiter and would seat us after checking in. Perfect! The meal was delicious. He informed us that breakfast went with our room and that we would have the choice of two items each morning. These two choice items are changed each day on a nine day rotation. Our only regret was that we were only able to enjoy three mornings of wonderful breakfasts because of our short stay. They did provide a bag breakfast for our last morning as we had an early return crossing. Again, a delicious choice of items. Their dinner menu was wonderful also. We ate there two nights with no regrets. The staff and owners were extremely efficient and friendly. Our room was clean and well appointed, with a view of the ocean. Actually, I don't think any room there was without an ocean view. The property was within a 10 minute walk to gift shops and restaurants. A very convenient location to be able to explore this special area of the island.

Very nice and clean and cozy rooms. There is a restaurant on site and the food is very good. Breakfast is included with the room. Very nice breakfast to. Very well situated and a short walk distance from “ la grave”. Where all the shops are a the scenery is awesome.

We came to the Iles de la Madeleine, an archipelago of Islands in the Province of Quebec. Spoiler alert, everything here is in French, there is little to no English, so don't look for it. The people are extremely nice, population total is 12,000. We took the new ferry from Souris PEI to the Iles a 5 hour trip on the Gulf of St-Lawrence. We booked on the Southern tip of the archipelago at Havre Aubert about 20 Km from Cap aux Meules the Capital. The Auberge is beautiful and restful, well appointed and with beautiful views of the Gulf. The Auberge also has a great gastronomic restaurant. The Co-Owner Francine is herself a Chef and she also has her nephew working as a Chef in the kitchen. We reserved for dinner the night we arrived and wow, what great food. We also had her breakfast each morning with its changing and very creative menu. Everything was delicious. In the dining room Etienne and Rafael are both great at serving and very professional, like what you expect in a 5 star hotel. Attentive and anticipating what you would like. Cannot say enough about such wonderful staff. Thank You, Merci Francine et toute l'équipe.

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights and really enjoyed our visit. The room was large and very clean. The breakfast was delicious. The restaurant was very popular so make sure you make a reservation. We came in on the ferry and could not get dinner until 8:30. The staff were very accommodating. We would definitely stay here again. We knew we were going off season and some of the stores and restaurants were closed but the trip was still enjoyable.

Bel établissement bien situé et bien entretenu. Les options de petit-déjeuner changent à chaque jour et toutes sont délicieuses. Notre traversée a été devancée de sorte que nous sommes arrivés aux îles à 3 heures du matin plutôt qu’à 18 heures. La propriétaire nous a néanmoins offert l’accès à notre chambre à l’avance et elle était là pour nous accueillir à 03h40. Que demander de mieux ?

Nous avons bien aimé cette auberge. L'accueil de Francine est chaleureux, les chambres sont grandes, propres et le lit confortable. Nous avions la vue sur la mer de la fenêtre de notre chambre. L'auberge est située à l'extérieur de la ville, les nuits sont calmes et reposantes. Les petits déjeuners inclus sont exceptionnels. Les portions sont généreuses. Tous les matins nous avions le choix de 2 menus cuisinés avec les ingrédients de la région. Le menu changeait tous les jours. Nous avons aussi profité du souper à l'auberge. Menu élaboré et gouteux à partir des produits de la région et belle carte des vins à prix raisonnables. Nous avons aimé notre séjour. Un petit merci au concepteur de la salle de douche. Le robinet de la douche est sur le mur opposé de la douche. Nous pouvions donc ajuster le débit et la température sans se tremper :))

Nous avons séjourné quatre jours dans cet auberge un peu rustique mais très accueillante. Les déjeuners sont excellents avec toujours deux options de choix. Je recommande aussi le restaurant pour le souper dont la paella aux fruits de mer. Le rapport qualité- prix est bon. Les chambres sont propres et le décor plutôt ancien. Il y a différentes chambres , donc vaut mieux parler à Francine pour savoir quelle choisir. L’auberge est bien situé près du chemin principal des îles . Très agréable de faire du vélo dans cette région de Havre-Aubert ou de la randonnée pédestre sur les collines des Demoiselles. Le vieux village d’Havre-Aubert est à distance de marche pour aller les boutiques d’artisanat ou prendre un café.
