Great quiet little escape. We stayed in the Beachcomber cottage and fell asleep to the sounds of the tide every night. It’s nestled in a quiet neighborhood right on the beach, and they’re trying to keep it a small and peaceful place, which is why they don’t want parties filled with visitors. The room was lovely, plenty of privacy, clean and well maintained. There’s the Bitsy Bean cafe and Periwinkle Cafe just down the street, and a grocery maybe ten minutes. The staff will do a load of laundry for a small fee. It’s -the- perfect quiet place to get away and not have to suffer through a crappy resort. We ate at the Keltic Lodge and checked out the place - it was pretty second rate and not nearly as nice. Would choose Lantern Hill hands down. I’d recommend ignoring most of the negative reviews on here, which sound like they’re written by Karens whining - the rules are very clearly spelled out in the email, very reasonable for a place in a small residential community, and no - no normal person should expect rural cottages to have a generator. As long as you don’t stink of American self entitlement, you’ll love this place for the quiet and peaceful getaway it was designed to be.
