Perfect for multi-generational family gatherings. This four-bedroom, three-bathroom home offers additional expandable space that can easily accommodate 10 people. The top floor suite contains a bedroom with a queen size bed, a bathroom, and a small office that includes a small sofa bed. The main level, (which is accessible from the driveway by three steps), includes a kitchen, living room which opens onto a deck that offers great views and a hot tub, den (with a queen-size sofa bed), bathroom, bedroom (with a murphy bed, desk, and tv) as well as a laundry room. The lowest level has a bedroom with a queen-size bed, another with a king-size bed, and a full bath. The house is a great indoor/outdoor house. The lovely deck is perfect for watching elk, deer, chipmunks, moose, and even the occasional bobcat and the outdoor gas grill makes eating 'al fresco’ easy and a true pleasure. And the hot tub is awfully nice after a hike!We completed a major renovation in 2022, installing new fire-resistant siding, converting the garage into an office/bedroom and a laundry room, removing what had been a quirky staircase to the third floor, and converting two bedrooms into a suite that includes a bedroom, bath, and office (with a sofa bed suitable for children. For families that have visited us before, we think you will find these changes have retained all the charm of the original house while improving its functionality.This house has been a haven for our family, a place to introduce new generations to the joy of the outdoors, and a source of great family memories. There are views of Meadow Mountain, and Twin Sisters, and now that we've been thinning the trees in the area, the magnificent Mt. Meeker in all its grandeur at 13,911ft. On cool evenings, the living room's wood-burning stove is both warming and inviting. The house has a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, washer & dryer. WiFi and DirecTV included! Another improvement has been a shift to Starlink WIFI which offers unlimited data and streaming. Two Bedrooms and a full (Just Remodeled) bath are situated on the lowest level. One has a king bed. Many guests enjoy the ability to be all together but also to have the separate spaces that the house affords. The house is a half-mile walk to stables and a small grocery store at Meeker Park Lodge. In summer, the house is an easy drive to many National Park trails, although there are also many trails and easy walks that only require stepping outside the house. In fall, it is a great place to view the autumn foliage and in winter the area offers fantastic snow-shoeing. We are also about 45 minutes from the Eldora Ski area where all the Boulder regulars choose to ski.Many guests enjoy the easy access to Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park but love the quiet that comes from being away from both. Located near both the Wild Basin Entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park and Long's Peak trail head, this cabin is ideally suited to anyone looking for a base for hiking, riding, climbing, hunting or just lazing and star gazing. The first floor includes a combined kitchen, dining room and living room, as well as two bedrooms and bath. Upstairs is a large loft overlooking the living room that most guests use as the master bedroom because of its large windows, the king size bed and it's stunning views of Mt. Meeker. The house sits on an acre and a half lot. It is adjacent to Ponderosa Lodge (Property # 803298) which we often rent in tandem (it is about 100 yards down hill) and which can be accessed by a path. Many families have rented both houses together for family reunions and weddings. We bought the house in 2001, although Susie had hoped to purchase it since first setting foot in in 1967, when her parents brought the family to meet the builder before purchasing the house down the hill. There has always been something very special about this cabin. It feels isolated while still being close to amenities. Its an easy 15 minute drive to Estes, 45 minutes to Boulder, and 5 minutes to the booming metropolis of Allenspark (population 250!). The Meeker Park Lodge Livery is a short walk and in summer the lodge has a small grocery store for last minute items. We are surrounded by Rocky Mountain National Park and Roosevelt National Forest so there is hiking in virtually every direction, from easy strolls to the trail head for one of Colorado's magnificent 14'ers. The Long's Peak trail head is just a brief drive. Susie's family started coming out to this area in 1955 and have enjoyed the wonders of this area in every season. The abundance of wildlife (moose, elk, mule deer, bobcats, hawks, owls, chipmunks, squirrels, seen them all!) can be enjoyed from the deck. The house is fully furnished and includes satellite and WiFi, a flat screen TV, DVD, games, books and a welcoming wood burning stove in the living room. We’ve recently put in a new king size mattress and have made some other upgrades. Its a great house. Beautiful 3 Bedroom 2 bath house buried in the pine trees on 4 acres near Wild Basin and Estes Park. Wild Basin (Rocky Mountain National Park) entry road just 200 yards down highway 7 from Tahosa Park South Rd. This is a recreation enthusiast's dream without being too close to the city. Close to fishing, hunting, hiking, biking, and guided horseback tours just a mile down the road at Meeker Park Lodge. The master suite includes full bath, walk in closet and private deck with views of a spectacular ridge. The lower level Queen room has access to lower bath and boast great views from the french doors to the exterior. The dual full sized bedroom has it's own private desk for those who may have to work from home. The home has a huge deck with built in dinning table, pellet grill and adirondack chairs to lounge. The basement living area includes 60" TV on Apple TV. The couch is a Queen pull out. There is a wood insert upstairs for entertainment and heat. The basement includes full laundry machines. The upper level has fully remodeled kitchen with new appliances and a dinning area in the kitchen. The main living area has an 82" Smart TV hooked to Apple TV and DVD player. The DVD collection is around 200 movies strong. There are two desk areas flanking each side of the stone fireplace with wood burning insert for asthetics and heat. Great cabin to work remotely and still get an afternoon hike up to Copeland Falls. There is abundant wildlife in the area including Elk, Deer, Moose and Turkey. This is also a great area to possibly see Black Bear. The drive to Estes Park is 15 minutes with stops along the way like Meeker Park lodge, Eagleplume Ute Indian shop, Longs Peak entrance,Saint Malo's Chapel on the Rock, Lilly Lake and the Twin Sister. In Estes Park you will find an up to date Safeway, Plenty of restaurants, Spas, and guide shops like Kirk's Flyshop (one of our favorites for many types of guided tours). Allenspark and Ferncliff are just a couple miles to the South and have three restaurants and small grocery/gas/liquor store. Allenspark also has an art gallery, a souvenir shop and the closest post office. Before driving into the mountains, we suggest entering the address in your GPS so you arrive at the destination with ease, as cellular connection in the mountains will be spotty.2. 4WD/AWD strongly encouraged when staying in winter and spring.
