What a wonderful and beautifully maintained hotel this place is. The staff are well trained, accommodating and kind. They are much warmer than other staff from other 5-star hotels. They are so efficient in cleaning the room and I was really impressed with their service. Every single detail about our stay was fabulous. I would definitely love to come back!

It is a beautiful hotel with a great history and stunning location.
I stayed here in May when the hotel and general O Grove area is still quiet. This suited us. My parents considered changing their plans and staying on longer as they loved the location so much.

A well-kept and beautiful Grand Hotel with magnificent views of the bay, a lot of charm and tradition. Ilsa la Toja is also a great starting point for visiting other parts of Galicia. The staff are very professional, service-minded and made the experience even stronger.
Will definitely go back!

The Gran Hotel is aptly named -- because it's 'gran', or great, in every way. The waterfront location is breathtaking; the facilities are gracious, elegant and pristine; the service is efficient and comprehensive. It's not a place to let it all hang out, though; there is a formality to the ambiance -- the sort of place where you feel you should comb your hair and iron your shirt before going for the delicious daily breakfast (where you're serenaded by a pianist wearing a suit). The pool was a real highlight, as was the daily voyage of a mussel tour boat that departs from the hotel waterfront. This place is pricey - but if you're able to splurge, it's worth it.

This hotel is superb. We were greeted and treated really well. Our room with a balcony was excellent, the view over the water was exceptional. I would highly recommend staying here when you visit Galicia, Spain. It is not in a city, but on an island linked by a bridge. It is about 1 hour from Vigo and the same from Santiago de Compestella, two places you must visit in Galicia. Make sure you get the breakfast included as it is great and the choices are too numerous to list. There is a heated pool outside and a spa if you want to indulge. It is one of the best hotels I have stayed in.

We had a wonderful stay here, except for one issue: dinners.
The views are breathtaking and we really enjoyed the pool and spa.
The staff is super friendly and polite.
Breakfast is excellent and there are good gluten free options (as in the rest of Galicia).
However, there is not much around the hotel, it is a place you go to get away from everything, and therefore we expected a reasonable dinner option to be available at the hotel. It wasn't. Dinner at the main restaurant was served from 9-11pm (with reservations). This is not inclusive of many foreign guests like ourselves who eat dinner much earlier.
So we were left with the hotel bar, and there the food was absolutely terrible and overpriced. I'd read about this in previous reviews and unfortunately it's true. One night in we realised we'd have to drive to the mainland for dinner for the rest of our stay.
We would have also appreciated a kettle and teacups in our room.
This being said we loved our stay and would return, but taking into account the inconvenience of dinner. It detracted from what would otherwise have been a 5-star stay.
