I have traveled regularly to Lanzarote over the past 15 years, staying mostly in Playa Blanca and Puerto del Carmen. I stumbled across Haría on a map whilst searching for great locations to visit for landscape photography during my trip. Intrigued by this small village, nicknamed the Valley of a thousand palms, I decided to research the area a little more. The moment that I saw La Casa de los Naranjos hotel online, I knew I had to stay there! I wasn’t looking for just a holiday. I was seeking a solo adventure, away from the crowds. Somewhere peaceful, tranquil and unique. Haría and La Casa de los Naranjos didn’t just meet that vision. They exceeded it. From the moment the taxi dropped me at the gates of the hotel, I was mesmerised by its charm and beauty. From the moment I stepped though the doorway, I instantly knew that this would be my first of many visits to come at this beautiful boutique hotel. I really didn’t realise just how much I needed some ‘me time’ to relax, unwind and recharge until I arrived here. The atmosphere that Jose has created is magical. Time stands still. Each and every staff member were all equally as welcoming, friendly and approachable and at no point during my stay did I feel like just another guest in a hotel. The experience here is a personal one and is much more a feeling of mi Casa Tu casa. The hotel is full of character and charm with a beautiful mix of its historic roots and modern touches. My room (Room 2) had high ceilings with chandeliers in both the bedroom and the bathroom. The mattress is the most comfortable that I have ever slept on and the free-standing bath was yet another luxurious touch. A candle lit, deep bubble bath experience after a long day hiking. Jose took me on a tour of the hotel where I was shown most of the other seven rooms. They are all equally as beautiful, all equally as luxurious offering their own individual touch of charm and character. Breakfast was delicious. Starting with juice, a hot drink, fresh fruit and Greek yogurt with nuts, raisins and dried fruit. You then select your choice of cooked breakfast from the menu. I thoroughly enjoyed goats' cheese with avocado on toast and Omelette. You are also served your choice of delicious home baked cake. The brownies and carrot cake were perfecto!. Haría is a beautiful village and the local people are very friendly and welcoming. I had the pleasure of attending the festival during my stay, an amazing cultural experience. I highly recommend climbing the mountain/volcano just behind the hotel for the most amazing sunrise views. The beautiful views can also be enjoyed from the hotels large roof top terrace. Everything about my time spent here was magical. La Casa de los Naranjos Is my new found place of zen that I really can’t wait to return to. Staying at this gorgeous boutique hotel feels like you’ve discovered a secret place, away from the rest of the world. Thank you Jose, Barbara, Pilar, Dulce and Javier for my unforgetta
