Hotel Isla Mucura

It is a beautiful and very peaceful place. People are very nice. Food is delicious. The place is safe. There are many activities to do for adults and children. The beach is clean and the sea is peaceful.

The place is so big & beautiful, a paradise in the Caribbean. The beach was perfect, blue and quite. The room was great bungalow suite 3 with sea views and the bed very confortable. The food and Johan attention at the restaurant was super and delicious, the bar was amazing in options and also the Eder and Sergio great service. Lily did flawless in the activities and guidance and the transportation service A1. 100% recommended for a relax vacations. We loved Hotel Isla Mucura so much

TENER MUCHO CUIDADO CON SUS OBJETOS PERSONALES, NO HAY BUENA SEGURIDAD EN LAS NOCHES. Nos hospedamos en las cabañas frente al mar y nos sacaron de la terraza de la habitación unas gafas de sol y a nuestro vecino de cabaña le sacaron sus sandalias. También supimos de unas gafas de sol perdidas en una actividad en lancha. Hablamos con el manager y personal del hotel pero no hubo ninguna solución ni camaras en esa zona para saber quien sustrajo nuestras pertenencias. Este suceso daño nuestra buena imagen y experiencia en el lugar. Lindo lugar. Buenas actividades adiciones. Buenas comidas y bebidas. BE VERY CAREFUL WITH YOUR PERSONAL OBJECTS, THERE IS NOT GOOD SECURITY AT NIGHT. We stayed in the cabins facing the sea and they took sunglasses from the terrace of the room and our neighbor's cabin took his sandals. We also met other travelers who lost their sunglasses in a boat activity when they left them in the boat while swimming. We spoke with the hotel manager and staff but there was no solution or cameras in that area to find out who stole our belongings. This event damaged our good image and experience in the place. Nice place. Good additional activities. Good food and drinks.

I am really sad to have to write this type of review , The workers of this place and the location itself was great but this place is DANGEROUS we were a group of 8 people (2 families with small children ) in our last day we were heading to grab dinner when 2 dogs (unleashed) inside the restaurant seating with their owners tried to BITE two of our kids, the reaction from the dog owners was not good at all, they did not even say I am sorry but basically what they said was pure excuses acknowledging the dogs tried to BITE our kids but saying it was not a big deal because nothing happened. Honestly our reaction was not good either, but just imagine how would you react in a situation a dog is trying to BITE your kid in an island with no medical care nearby. The WORST was the hotel did not do anything about it, they did not ask the dog owners to leave the restaurant even though the same hotel has a policy where states all dogs needs to be on a leash and a muzzle, additionally this is also a Colombia law. In our check out process the Hotel did not offer us any kind of remedy for the really bad time we had where we did not even had our dinner (that we previously paid) because of the awful event. So to sum it up if you have kids or just don’t want to get MAULED by a dog during your vacation, DO NOT COME to this place

Place is heaven on earth, crazy ti thi m this is.in the middle.of.the ocean yet has all the convenience and comfort you need; took a tour of the facility and saw how they make power and produce there own water. Everything is brought in from land in regards to the food , they had fresh fruit. Daily and the buffet was awesome as it had fish for me and other proteins for my kids.that don't eat seafood. The rooms are spectacular, we stayed in a room with a private pool and almost felt no need ti leave the room as it was magical and very private, I can't recommend this place enough, if you want paradise this is the place

One of the best experiences that I have ever had on holidays in Colombia! The hotel is amazing, the people who work at the hotel are really welcoming and kind. This place is a paradise on earth. A big thank you to the nurse Luz Estella, who help me with an injury that I had during my stay, she knows a lot and she is ready to help. Last but not least, I love the fact that the hotel has responsible tourism, supporting the community of natives that live in the island in very difficult conditions. However, I consider that the hotel should include this in their internet web page, giving more visibility to the travelers about the good cause that the hotel supports.

The spectacular service from the moment of arrival with Estefanny and Jacqueline at reception is outstanding; they know their job very well, offer you a refreshing juice, and ensure a very peaceful stay. The spaces are beautiful with many activities available. Oscar and Xavier at the bar, as well as Luis in the dining area, are excellent hosts. The burgers and meat empanadas are highly recommended. Janeth from general services is very kind and attentive. Definitely a place to disconnect and, of course, to return El servicio espectacular desde la llegada con Estefanny y Jacqueline en recepción, conocen muy bien su trabajo, te brindan un jugo refrescante y la estadía muy tranquila. Los espacios son muy bonitos y tienen muchas actividades. Oscar, Xavier en el bar y Luis en el comedor excelentes anfitriones. Las hamburguesas y empanadas de carne recomendadas. Janeth de servio os generales muy amable y atenta. Definitivamente un lugar para desconect**** y por supuesto para regresar!

It was a great place, very peaceful if what you are looking for a relaxing experience. We had a problem the first day because it was super noisy with loud music next door, but they changed us to another room in a better location where you couldn’t hear anything but the ocean and birds. Jesus Avila made the whole experience for me and my partner way better because he took care of our vegan food and he always had a super great energy and attitude together with his team. But as an advice I would put more options in the buffet that are suitable for vegans, especially for the price you pay. We took the trip to the Islote and literally was 10 minutes in a bote and we ended up paying 80.000 pesos each person just for that and we had to wait 40 minutes to be picked after the tour ended. Not ok at all. Other than that we had an amazing experience and we definitely enjoyed and would come back.

The hotel and the island are marvelous! We had booked a deluxe cabin, and being close to the water ensured a better air and more privacy than other places. There were no moquitos on the island. Much appreciated as the shower is outdoor! It also helped us escape the horrible and very loud techno music from the DJ, who started in the afternoon and who, btw, seemed to be the only one enjoying his noise! Why he could not play some of the wonderful colombian music and set a romantic island vibe, I will never understand! The food was quite good, both in the beach bar and the restaurant. If you buy the buffet juice (but rather thin juice) is included. You can also fill your water bottle in the reception and the restaurant, so you do not have to buy water. The correspondance with the hotel before, during and after booking was more than difficult! All is in Spanish... And even though my Spanish is coming along fine, when paying that much money, I would like to be sure... On the booking VAT was added, even though foreign nationals don't pay it (we used the VAT to pay for the boat and food). But at one point I was close to just give up... The boat is horribly expensive - for that price (300.000 pesos pr. person) I would have expected some more comfort - not an uncomfortable speed boat without a toilet for a 2 hour ride (well, almost 3 counting the waiting time in the harbour). And on the way back it was "airborne" a lot of the time with some really hard bumps from waves - that was awful. Kevin in the reception spoke English very well and was a great help to us! There is a small pueblo outside the hotel and short walk to the public beach (after 3pm the day tourists have left) and you can get a GREAT coco loco and some food.
