Property was conveniently located within walking distance of grocery store, restaurants, shopping and entertainment. The beach access was beyond perfect. The property was clean and the staff was amazing.

We were in a two bedroom suite and loved all the space. We enjoyed being on the beach but also loved being able to walk out to numerous restaurants and shops. We rented a golf cart two days and got to experience more of the island visiting Punta Sur, Garrafon de Castillo and Kin Ha Beach Club. We loved the island and would definitely stay at Hotel Ixchel again.

We spent 4 nights at Ixchel in May 2024 and enjoyed our stay. The hotel is clean, well decorated and run like a well-oiled machine, from the cleaning staff to front desk staff to the beach and on-site restaurant staff. Everyone we encountered was very friendly and so helpful. Our room was clean and had fresh towels every day, and it had the basics of what was needed: a mini fridge, a microwave, a tv, etc. Shower pressure was good, the mattress was nice and firm and our room overlooked the pool (we didn’t have a balcony, but that was fine).
The location of the hotel is perfect, steps away from the beautiful Playa Norte beach and the start of one of the main strips, Av. Hidalgo, where restaurant and shops are located—so you have plenty of eating options outside of the hotel.
And yes, they had plenty of lounge chairs, so no need for getting out early to reserve anything. All in all, I highly recommend Ixchel and look forward to staying there again.

We've stayed here about 4 times now, for a reason. We used to stay @ Aluxes before it became Adults Only, but our daughter loves the pool here and how nice everyone is.

We had an incredible time at the Ixchel Beach house. Emilio and the rest of the team at the restaurant and beach were excellent. We were in room 409 in building two and it was fantastic. Each room is different, so make sure you request a room that has been recently renovated. The area surrounding the hotel come alive at night. Don't forget to try the churros and marquesitas from local street vendors. We really enjoyed our time in Isla Mujeres.

The location is perfect (right on North beach, which is usually very busy, and right in town). The location couldn't be better if you want to be in the middle of everything. The small pool was lovely, and the on-site restaurant was good.
I did have one concern that was resolved very well. I had booked an "ocean front" room which I thought would mean right on the ocean, walk out access, but to this hotel it means 'ocean facing' on the 5th floor. I expressed my disappointment that the room wasn't ocean front, and they did their best to accommodate me, and ended up giving me a very lovely room, on the ground floor, with direct beach access.
So be aware that the "Ocean Front" room means 'facing the ocean', not direct access to the ocean. But I give this hotel staff high marks for making my stay so wonderful!
