Amara Cay Resort

Nie szukaj plaży, na której nie ma żadnej. Dobry pokój do ćwiczeń. Musiałem codziennie iść do recepcji po świeże ręczniki i kawę.

Stayed here many times (7) in recent years but as often happens under new ownership, standards and value go down. Not the place it was. The check in staff are totally disinterested in customer service, sheets/ bedding had tears and holes in them. We needed a room with a convertible sofa bed and were told we had to make up the bed ourselves as housekeeping wouldn’t do it! Strange but true, so after waiting over two hours for staff to bring sheets and pillows we made up the bed and went out to dinner. Standards are certainly going down in this establishment and in fact the only thing going up is the ‘resort’ fee currently standing at $40 per night. Absolutely ridiculous charge for what is on offer. Certainly not worth the room rates so avoid! In case the hotel quibble about my comment regarding the bedding I will attach a couple of photos.

Ameracay is a very nice resort. It's not too far and easily accessible. It gas a nice tiki brand beach as well as a very nice courtyard with game areas and firepits. The resort is in an area that has iguanas. These are harmless if left alone. Make sure yiu balcony door is shut so a curious iguana does not visit. You also should ve aware that in case of a cold snap, iguanas fall from trees. As long as they don't hit you in the head again they are harmless. Visited the outside bar fi a sandwich. Everything in the Keys cost more so prices are moderate. We shared a sandwich with no issues. The lobby area is very nice with suspended swinging chairs. Decorations are "islandish" which is appropriate. There is a selfie wall which has keys mounted. There is also a wall mounted magnetic Scrapple game. There are nice restaurants within walking distance. Both Midway and Lazy Boys were busy. If you go out for dinner, expect moderate wait. Staff was exceptionally nice and helpful. The resort has a very snLl gift shop. Not much for men unless you need a bathing suit. The only problem was the entire area was having water issues. There was no hot water in the room. I would stay again. It's about half the cost of staying in Key West. There are places very close by if you want to plY in, on, or under the water. It may be possible to book a ride out to Alligator Reef Lighthouse via a service near by. Lots of places to hop on a fishing boat. The water off Islamadora is a nationally protected coral reef. Make sure you know what you can and can't do on the reef. The resort does not allow drone flying on property. You might be able to fly from a nearby bridge. I will probably visit again.

The room was amazing with a few exceptions. The bathroom sink faucet was too short therefore you couldn’t wash very well. The shower head was too close to the wall which made it difficult to rinse. I was extremely disappointed with restaurant menus. The food selections were minimal with exorbitant prices. We didn’t eat at the resort.

The staff was super kind and helpful. The property was clean...the beach and ocean was so refreshing

Absolutely outstanding! We had an incredible week! The resort is beautiful and refreshing! Only constructive feedback is to allocate some training to the cleaning and engineering staff to understand good customer service communication skills. They could really represent this beautiful resort and overall experience with simple smiles even if there is a language and cultural difference. Their service is great but their personal engagement requires the right leader to properly encourage them and educate them on the value of a smile!

Beautiful property, amazing services. My favorite part was the live yoga classes beside ocean and the live music artists in evening. The property is very well maintained and something to do for everyone whether you are a couple or vacationing with kids.

I have always liked this place, quiet a**osphere, very nice surroundings, for families or couples, friendly with pets. The room was not so clean, there was dust on the floor and some corners of the shower that had not been cleaned for some time. The staff was very friendly and helpfull, the girls @front desk specially, I only have a complaint about the day of check out, from 9 am they were literally entering the room, to check if we were still there, at least 3 times. Around 10:30, almost upon leaving, they opened the door again "without knocking." There I went out and found a man and a woman from housekipping, who apparently never trained for that. Aside from that incident we had a great time and recommend it.

We have been staying here since 2018. Our room and the facilities are starting to show wear and tear.
