Hotele niedaleko St James Church Grain, Isle of Grain

We arrived at the hotel in the summer to a friendly welcome from the helpful and enthusiastic staff but with low expectations for our experience after reading previous reviews on this site. Accessing our room required a steep climb up several floors of stairs, as there was no lift, meaning elderly customers would need to book a room on the ground floor. The room was very clean, comfortable, cosy and more than adequate for our needs, and we all enjoyed a good night's sleep in the comfortable beds. We were very impressed with the standard of the food, which was beautifully cooked by the chef Buddhi, who would have easily qualified to work in a much higher grade restaurant, although there was limited choice for meals and no desserts on the menu, however what was available was thoroughly enjoyable. As we stayed under the half-board, which we found very worthwhile, the quality of the meals we had surpassed our expectations. The front of house staff member, Isuru, was very friendly and knowledgeable, and nothing seemed too much trouble for him; he was always approachable and catered to all our needs. However, we discovered a restaurant menu in our room which was out of date, so don't depend on this for the meals available. Overall, we found our stay very enjoyable, excellent value for money and the staff extremely personable, as well as the wonderful food. If you have realistic expectations and are looking for a comfortable, budget hotel for a family break or business trip, you will not be disappointed. We would definitely recommend. This is the second time me and my husband have stayed here in the last two months . We paid for a standard room but were given an executive suite with a sea view !!! I was so happy this hotel is immaculate throughout. The rooms are amazingly clean and comfortable.Bathrooms are spotless and really modern but most importantly the staff are so friendly and welcoming.Theres literally not one thing I can say I didn’t like about this place except I didn’t want to leave !! Will be returning again and again Thank you for an amazing stay !!🤗

Slightly dated decore and the carpet could do with a clean but honestly we both had the best 2 day stay... really friendly staff food was delightful locals made us feel extremely welcome for sure when we visit again we will be staying here 😀 waking up to a sea view was fabulous 👌

Air conditioning was not working , which was bad because the whole reason we booked this hotel during this heat was for some air conditioning, but staff were nice and gave us a fan but we were still abit annoyed The door key was not good kept taking ages to work ,

We stayed for my birthday last month as a couple and had the perfect night away. It's a beautiful seafront property with views of Southend promenade and the pier. Fantastic location. The ladies that run the hotel were lovely. We were greeted to have everything explained to us, she had put the heating on in our room. The room was recently decorated and had lots of lovely touches such as hairdryer, ironing board, tea and coffee and toiletries. Breakfast was continental choices and freshly cooked choices to order. The breakfast room is beautifully done, airy open and views of the sea. I would highly recommend a stay here we had such a lovely night away.
