Pera Palace Hotel

Great stay at Pera Palace. The hotel is full of history and character, with a beautiful atmosphere and excellent service. The location is also very convenient. A truly memorable experience in Istanbul!

First of all, this is one of the greatest historical hotels at least in Turkey. So, everything is old-school and traditional. This is the hotel you will like for sure. What was great: a small excursion with manager Esra and even driving into the old historic elevator to our floor, Atelier Rebul in the room, the staff are very friendly. What wasn’t great: “continental” breakfast which fits for Europeans and actually extremely boring to see in Istanbul with an amazing Turkish food culture. The cocktails and service in Orient bar are weak and overpriced.

We stayed one night and left underwhelmed. Our “Deluxe Pera Side” room was directly above a 6-lane road. The windows are excellent, so it wasn’t particularly noisy — but it still feels like staying above a highway rather than in a historic hotel. Pillows were all synthetic, and despite repeated requests, no feather pillows ever arrived — even when replacements were brought and described as such (tags suggested otherwise). Service was inconsistent. A simple request for directions inside the hotel turned into confusion and a surprisingly dismissive response when we asked again. Concierge guidance around May 1st closures was well-intended but oddly disproportionate (suggesting a 6 AM departure on foot for a 5 PM flight), which didn’t inspire confidence. Wi-Fi was effectively unusable despite strong signal and repeated attempts across multiple devices. Individually these are small issues — together they add up. At this price point, we expected a more polished experience.

it is a hotel full of cultural history. location is good too. however the service is lacking in some hotel staff.

We stayed here for two days during our honeymoon in Istanbul. Built in 1892, the hotel holds incredible historical value and features a stunning, classic interior. We especially loved our coffee time in the lounge, and every staff member was exceptionally kind. It was great to see the breakfast menu changing daily. Getting the chance to ride Turkey's first-ever elevator made us feel truly special, and the small keychain gifted to us as a honeymoon souvenir made us so happy. We felt genuinely well-taken care of throughout our stay. Teşekkür ederim!

I love Pera Palace Hotel!!! It's been love at first sight! ❤️ It's been my dream since about two years to spend a night here and finally last night my husband and I did, and even with my extremely high expectations the stay even surpassed those - it was one of the best hotel stays ever - and we had a lot! 😉 Pera Palace Hotel has such a vibrant history and it nourishes this historical vibe, it's like living in a museum, it is as if you've been dropped into another time about one hundred years back - absolutely lovely, mesmerizing, breathtaking! 😍 On the way to our room #512, we took the first elevator of the country made of wood and cast iron and installed in 1892 - what an exciting ride! 🤩 The ROOM!!! I had booked the Greta Garbo corner room and it DID look like on the pictures - beautiful!!! Again, talking about travelling in time ... Bed was comfy, bathroom with cute old style bathtub 🛁 ... Everything was perfect! There was enough complimentary water, the option to make espresso, tea,... Minibar was available as well but we chose to have a nice glass of Whiskey at the Oriental Bar instead in the evening - so stylish, such a cozy flair, plus quite a big choice of different whiskeys ... 🥃 The service from check-in until check-out was impeccable - valet, reception, Turkish coffee at Kubbeli Lounge, drinks at Oriental Bar, Agatha Restaurant for breakfast with a fantastic buffet... the SPA area is quite small, but very nice as well ... We had a little steam room and sauna session that was very relaxing before retiring to our room for the night ... This morning, after the delicious breakfast, we visited the Atatürk museum - room #101 where Atatürk used to reside starting from 1917 until he took residency at Dolmabahçe Palace. What else can I say? Well, check out the list of all the famous people from all over the world who stayed at Pera Palace Hotel! And watch Midnight at the Pera Palace on Netflix 🗝️ 😃 ... And then try it out yourself and you'll see, it's as stunning as I'm saying!!! 😍😍😍 We'll be back, I REALLY want to! ❤️ On the last picture you can see a gift that I received when checking out 🥰 - so it's clear, we are meant to be back!!! And if I choose the room we will stay at very carefully next time we might even be able to travel in time ... 🤣

An unforgettable experience. Pera Palace perfectly blends history, elegance, and outstanding hospitality. Every detail is exceptional. One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. Highly recommended.

Such a beautiful hotel — one with a story, a soul, and true history behind it. Still preserved under government care, this marvelous place has hosted some of the greatest guests you could ever imagine. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of modern Turkey, once lived here — greeting international visitors and laying the foundations for a better future for his people and his country. His suite has been kept as a tribute; the doors to the Atatürk Room open daily at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., allowing guests to quietly pay their respects. For those drawn to mystery, lose yourself in a cocktail (or two) at the legendary Orient Bar — where Agatha Christie’s Orient Express seems to come alive. Yet among all the tales this hotel carries, its guest service may be the finest story of all. Attentive, kind, and earnest in every gesture — they bridge any language gap with grace and warmth. But bear in mind — the rooms are charmingly old, though the cleanliness is truly impeccable. You can hear faint footsteps above when someone walks around, a reminder of the hotel’s vintage bones. Room temperature control is... let’s say, an adventure. It’s either a steady 22–23.8°C or a blazing 29.8°C. At one point, I thought I was waking up with a tan. I had asked for the heat to be turned up earlier because it was freezing, and while the staff kindly came to fix it, well — this was the outcome so I just opened the window. Last but not least, DO NOT miss out on afternoon tea at the Orient Bar! Thank you Pera Palace :)
