If there's one word i have to use for it I'd say 'filthy'. If there's one advice i have to give anyone across the world I'd say (HIGHLY) 'AVOID'. Pl note reviews are seemingly more from foreigner travellers. We stayed in 3 different rooms for 2 days after chosing the best ones. So i can say with authority how the hotel is. First let me clear the confusion: the reviews on various aggregator site/app are for the hotel. TOFU DOES NOT HAVE ITS OWN DESERT SAFARI AND ARE MERE BROKERS AT WHOSE SITES THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY SAY. Seeing the high ratings on *********** we reached there morning at around 10. The filthy place is located in small bylanes infested with dogs which pose grave danger especially at nights. So we reached morning 10 am and the fleecing started from there n went continuously unabated till the time we left. Before we reached there we spoke with Taufiq (Tofu is his short name). He said since v hv come to him without any marketing from his side we pay whatever v feel its worth. I said 'no' tell us your rate. We said @ Rs 1600 per head (including 30 km jeep safari and 10 mins camel safari). Visit to border, longewala museum and Tanot ***dir would cost additional 4000 (because we were 7 people- 5 adult n 2 children f 10 years n needed big car). The total came to 17300 n v asked for 16000. He refused (since now we were at his place). It was fixed at Rs 16500. He assured multiple times that 'you wil not have to spend a single paise apart from this). This also included, all tolls, parkings and his promise to drop us off at night/morning 2 am at Jaisalmer railway station for a train to catch at 3 am. No major issues so far. We would have not checked in tge moment we saw tge filthy place but then i thought maybe the high ratings were for the safari and safari was very important to us. So we stayed in the absolute filthy place with stained bed sheets, very hard bunkbeds. Bathrooms were worse than extremely dirty un***ned public toilets. Fans made noise (luckily the weather was chilling), commode was like it was never cleaned, mugs were stained n greasy, no hot water etc etc. And mind you, he gave us the best room which he "gives only to foreigners" because we rejected the 2 rooms initially showed in the first floor. Again, we stayed thinking their desert safari would be heavenly (ratings were 9.2/10!!!). There were 3 staff, 2 were some Khans and third was Asif. All were absolutely cold, no smiles ever, difficult to talk to, difficult to get replies from. As if they cared to hoots for their customers. Smiles were costly for them. Taufiq promised us "best rooms in dessert safari that we would remember for long time". So we hoped against hope n left in excitement for dessert safari the next afternoon around 3 o'clock. On the way the driver asked us to pay for toll (remember "you dont hv to pay a single paise"?). When i refused he insisted. After i still refused, tge drived begged to let him go without toll.
