Some good points, more bad than good. Travelling with another couple. Arrived after a long journey and had to wait 1.5 hours for rooms to be cleaned, even then the cleaner was still in one of the rooms. Rooms are dated but clean, adequate space with fridge, mosquito nets on balcony doors and TV. Cockroach in one room and lizard in the other. Showers were ok if you could get hot water and didn’t mind a flood each time you used them as not doors but I think it’s meant to be a wet room but takes so long to drain we ended up using towels to dry floor. By the 4th day we found that the sun was too much for the curtains that only covered 2/3 Of our balcony doors (our friends just cover the whole of theirs) and woke us at 6am each morning so we asked if they had anything we could use to cover the gap, we were told the manager will attend to this for us, this did not happen, resulting in very little lay ins which I expect on holiday. The bar was cheap, we spent most evenings here however it did run out of beer so we explained that we would not be drinking there until it was restocked and this was done two nights later. Marcus the bar manager was wonderful and very helpful. He was definitely apart of the hotel that was good. Breakfast was okay, egg options cooked to order, however this did feel like the man did not want you to order, as he was busy, cornflakes, rolls, croissants and tea, coffee and squash. There was fruit and yoghurt but this was limited and you had to be very very quick. The waitress was very nice and friendly. Pool was run down, cracked tiles around the pool the pergolas had seen better days, during our stay one of the heavy wooden legs came crashing down missing me by inches, we went to the reception to explain to the owner, she said they kept fixing it and it kept happening she would send her husband down, he did not arrive so we left it on the floor and when going back to our room explained again to the bar and also our friends spoke to the manager who took our room number, we did at the least expect an apology but this did not happen, there was no mention of it and it seemed that they avoided the situation. This was very dangerous and could have hit a child. The pool had what looked like white blocks for cleaning thrown in that stayed on the top so these were to be avoided while swimming, generally it was scummy. They cooked me a pizza at €6 which was lovely, this seemed to be the only food available apart from cheese and ham toasties or crisps. The hotel is on a hill which gives lovely views but a bit of a walk back up. Shame about the problems as this could be a lovely hotel.
