Hotel Old Cinema

We really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely choose it again. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. They also took the time to help us find a tour while we are with them. We really enjoyed our welcoming letter and felt the personalization was a great touch. The breakfast the next morning was very yummy and filling You can’t go wrong staying in this hotel! 

Hotel ideally located for an easy access to the city center of Kampot. The hotel is well designed despite the sizes of the rooms which are smaller than what you can usually get in Cambodia for this room rate. The women running the hotel are lovely and really helpful. They helped organizing a one day tour of the countryside to La Plantation and to Kep. The tuktuk driver that they recommended was really nice and interesting. He spoke good English. They offered to cook the breakfast for takeaway as we had to leave early. Will definitely come back.

This is a wonderful hotel, recently renovated to such a high standard. Our room (108) was absolutely huge with a great terrace area. The staff were all so helpful and friendly and sorted various excursions / tuktuks / onwards transfers for us. Breakfast was delicious and there was a great a la carte selection (cooked breakfast, continental, fruit, muesli, noodles etc), as was the bar (I would recommend the gin club happy hour!). Pool area is small but nice, just next to the restaurant and bar. Location is perfect for walking into Kampot or to the river front (5 mins or so). There is also a lovely hotel cat. All in all, a fantastic hotel which I would highly highly recommend!

Stayed here for two nights, two couples, the hotel is perfect! Great rooms, art deco style decor really lovely. Bathroom is good with great hot shower. Air con, tea and coffee making in room. Perfect breakfast! Lovely staff. Highly recommended, great location too close to river.

The Staff at the Hotel are absolutely fabulous. Fantasticly helpful and knowledgeable, and go out of their way to make your stay all the more enjoyable. The hotel is right in the heart of the old quarter - well located, great rooms, and great breakfast and food. I changed my booking to to stay a day earlier and longer and the staff went out of their way to make my arrival more comfortable after a tiring overnight bus ride from Siem Reap. Coffee and breakfast was the perfect way to be greeted after a long overnight bus ride. Good advice on what to do and where to go - while staying in Kampot and exploring the region.

Attentive service, beautifully appointed rooms and a gorgeous pool and dining area... this hotel was a standout of our trip. The hospitality of all staff, particularly owner manager, Pauline, was exceptional. We were grateful of assistance in organising day trips and transfers. Nothing was too much trouble. Book it.

When we decided to go to Kampot it was clear that this was the place to stay, and we weren't wrong. From the moment we arrived until the time we waved our good byes we were so looked after. The rooms are everything you need but once you step outside the room you are in beautiful communal areas with the owner and staff always on hand to help. The bar was very well stocked but the high point was the food. Superb breakfasts and just sublime food in the day/evening. You really have to eat there, the chef is brilliant. All the staff were lovely but the young locals serving us were to be commended for their friendliness, they were as asset to the hotel.

Came here as a group of 2 couples and 1 child for evening meal. Did not have reservation but Ginny accommodated us unbelievably well. Food and service was great as were the beautiful decor/surroundings. Lovely to see a renovation project done properly.

How I enjoyoed the Hotel Old Cinema and its staff! I spent two nights there and could not have been happier with the space or the service. The hotel is ingeniously configured: My room was exceedingly well laid out, with a private balcony that was truly private and the kind of touches that make the difference between a serviceable and a truly comfortable stay -- enough space to hang wet things and enough bathroom counter space to hold an array of items, and moreover, an array of fresh greenery that brought each room to life. Common areas include several pleasant greenery-ensconced spaces with seating and/or tables and a pool that is open to the sky and allows one to float / swim under palm fronds. Utterly delightful! Did I mention that the hotel is in a great location? It is! Perhaps best of all -- the staff. :) Pauline and Gila were both amazingly helpful from the time I booked through the moment I left. Very knowledgeable about Kampot, they were able to enhance my experience of this lovely town in uncounted ways. I am particularly grateful to Pauline for ensuring that Vichet would be my driver for times when I needed a car -- such a gem! I benefitted from other recommendations, too -- riding with Sen and his tuktuk to see salt pans and a sunset, dining on cheese souffle at 23 Bistro, watching another sunset from the riverside Starbucks.... And let me not forget the other hotel staff! From chef (the breakfasts were delicious!) through housekeeper, all were unfailing welcoming and responsive. Kudos, one and all! I recommend the Hotel Old Cinema wholeheartedly and without hestitation.
