Lake Elmenteita Serena Camp

This is definitely worth a visit! Wonderful staff. Wonderful settings right next to the lake Elementaita. Make sure to book your spa treatments as soon as you arrive to avoid disappointment. If you are on a diet, the food is too wonderful to think of that. Very relaxing with beautiful rooms, all with a view to the lake . ..,

On arrival we found a team waiting for us and they knew our names. Our luggage was meticulously handed and delivered to our rooms. The room was clean and our housekeeper Ann attended to our every need. Chef Ken ensured we got fingerlicking delicacies thanks. Manger Lameck humility and availability to our needs was awesome.

The staff were good but the camp was a bit run down. Rooms were average and there were a lot of swamp flies near the lake. First night, there were a lot of dead flies in our room which was not a pleasant experience. Nothing much to do at the lake apart from seeing the pink flamingos. There is a watering hole in front of the camp and we saw some animals come by, which was nice. Food was average. I would recommend just seeing the flamingos and not staying at Lake Elementaita or maximum one night stay.

It took us about 3 hours drive from Nairibo to Lake Elementeita Serena Camp. Commenced our safari drive passing through acasia trees and grass land we came across many eland, buffaloes and zebras, a true wildlife sanctuaty indeed. Approaching the lake we could see from far flocks of flamingo at the side of the lake, a beautiful sight it was. Its an amazing sight when the flamingos fly over flat water and a colourful display, a spectacular and beautiful eye opening. A great opportunity to be so close to wildlife and connected to nature. A worthwhile trip on this safari drive.

Great hotel on the lakeshore. Lovely views, good food, and wonderful service. We stayed as a group of 13 from South Africa, and all of us enjoyed the hotel very much. We could all recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to unwind and relax. Situated in a super game reserve with lovely views and interesting animals, including Rothchilds giraffe

I visited Serena in November. It is located inside the Soysambu conservancy.(roughly 2 hrs drive from Nairobi & very easily accesible) The hotel has scenic views and a number of animals. The rooms all have beautiful views. The hotel has a number of fun activities for all types of travellers and on my game drive we spotted a number of animals... The highlight being the flamingoes. The service was spectacular & dorothy was a great host. I will definetly be back soon

It was a camp on my bucket list. I'm so glad I went...the food ,the staff, the camp itself is just A1. I would recommend the place and I would go back there,again and again. My stay at this hotel was nothing short of exceptional. The staff were incredibly attentive and went above and beyond to make sure guests felt comfortable and cared for. One thoughtful touch that really stood out was the hot water bottles they provided each night – a small gesture that made chilly evenings so much cozier. Every detail, from the warm smiles at check-in to the personalized service throughout our stay, showed the staff’s commitment to creating a memorable experience. I can’t recommend this place enough for anyone visiting Kenya!

The camp is great and was one of the best places we stayed in during our 16 days safari-trip. It doens‘t feel overcrowded because there are not too many tents. Everything is very clean and there are a lot of lovely details in the tents and also in the lobby and restaurant. The staff is absolutely friendly and professional. For the night we got a hot-water bottle in our beds. From our tents we had a wonderful view to the lake and the landscape. A highlight is also the view at lunch and dinner – while enjoying the delicious food you have a wonderful view on the lake. The only thing we would like to mention is, that we heard a very loud noise from motorbikes and cars in the middle of the night, which lasted for quite a long time. We don‘t know if it was staff which left for the night or if it was from the street (don‘t know how far the street is away from the camp because it‘s surrounded by bushes and trees). But all in all we would absolutely recommend the camp – we wished we could stay longer!
