Spoilt honeymoon We can never relive this time Jet2 should have made sure this part of hotel was ready to open to guests but as rep told us they take the word of the hotel So worth considering never look at hotels that are newly renovated Jet 2 offered a £150.00 off next holiday not worth using as that is insulting Will upload health and safety video of digger driving inches past hotel room doors

We travelled as a couple, with another couple. ROOM We booked one of the deluxe double rooms in the newer part of the hotel. The room was beautiful, on the ground floor and had a disability-friendly bathroom. Lots of space though we were saddened that our room ended up being right beside the road, meaning we were often kept awake or woken up. Our room didn't look out on to the pool which we were also disappointed by, however still didn't detract from our holiday as we didn't spent much time there. POOL We spent most time by the pool at the newer part of the hotel. There are 2 pools, 1 of which is beside the swim up rooms. There's also a rooftop pool. These areas are amazing, sunbeds are super comfy and we never had an issue getting one, however I don't think the hotel was at full capacity. The pool was in shade for most of the morning til the afternoon meaning it was pretty cold - not necessarily a bad thing for some in the heat. BAR STAFF The bar staff were amazing. Super friendly and talkative. Just really lovely service and they are a credit to the hotel! DRINKS AI drinks were pretty standard local drinks. Though sometimes the cocktails were made a little strong - the inconsistency could be shocking! But overall managed to find a couple I enjoyed. I feel it would be such an improvement to just have well known commonly made cocktails. FOOD Food was OK - breakfast very much the same but loveddddd the rotation of pancakes and waffles which were great. Waffles and pizza at the snack hatch were also great, just wish there was something served late at night. Pizzas were well made and delicious. Rotation of various meats, veg, pastas, salads - all fine but nothing spectacular ENTERTAINMENT This was a big let down for us. We love having some type of entertainment in the evening, but most days it was inside by the stage which was cramped with little seating. The outside area has a perfect section for entertainment, which was used for Greek night and it was amazing! So disappointed this wasn't used more. There was also a few quizzes and other entertainment here and there, however for the most part - everything was said in French so we couldn't understand! I've been to resorts before where entertainment is spoken in English, French and German to include everyone, however so often we were unable to take part at all or else were forced to listen to the team and other guests shout in French. Back to Greek night however - this was by far the best, and the Greek musicians/singer/dancers were absolutely amazing! LOCATION The hotel is under a flight path - if you're in any way a light sleeper this will most definitely be a problem. There were quite a few nights we slept terribly even with ear plugs, and as I said before our room was by the road. My fiancé also got woken up by a rooster one morning! In terms of things to do - there are watersports nearby, a beach, a few lovely coastal tavernas and beach snack bars. A short walk away is the main street in

Magda Hotel is my first ever all inclusive and it was amazing. All the staff are kind, passionate and talented people. You have so many food (with snacking outside of typical breakfast, lunch and dinner), drink, entertainment, games and even pool options to occupy yourself throughout the day and night - all included within your booking. Since it’s also near the airport this means you’ll basically be the first dropped off if you’ve opted for a transfer shuttle, and the last picked up before the bus heads back to the airport, so no long waiting/driving times! Obviously I loved it and highly recommend Magda Hotel.

Just returned from a family holiday at the Magda we had a great holiday with a few negatives. The positives are everywhere is extremely clean from the grounds to the rooms the staff work very hard to maintain this. Rooms are cleaned daily and towels and linen every couple of days, bed are comfortable. We had a double room which was small but modern and clean with a nice walk in rain shower., small balcony overlooking the side garden. The deluxe rooms are in the newest part of the hotel which our son had and had a nice balcony overlooking the pool and was bigger with a double rain shower very modern and spacious. Loved how everything was spaced out so even in August you didn't feel so over run with people. Having different pools helped, we only used the large pool just down from the roof top pool, which had lovely palm trees on either side. Also used the roof top pool a couple of times as our sons room was in that block. Quite a few sunbeds, although usually helps to reserve if going at a busy time of year like us and need some shade. We would never normally book all inclusive in Greece, but as we were a family and only going for a week felt it easier to do this. The food was OK lots of fruit and Greek yogurt for breakfast which I love. Pancakes unfortunately no maple syrup but we lived, eggs kept warm so not great, but lovely fresh salads and tasty feta....Pizza's cooked fresh and we're really good...and nice desserts. I appreciate it's hard to keep big trays of food hot but this was my personal disappointment as hot or even warmer than it was served would have made alot of difference to the overall meals. Even waiting for the trays to be refreshed as I did on a few occasions didn't help as they seemed generally just warm when replaced which was a shame. Some of the pork and lamb meat was not great, quite tough and fatty. We ate out a couple of nights for a change which helped and on both occasions had good food. We were a family of five adults and one teenage granddaughter of fourteen so didn't get involved with the entertainment much as enjoyed our own company as a family, but the jumbo team all seemed great, very friendly and worked hard to make everyone enjoy themselves especially the little ones.

First of all I would like to say how wonderful this hotel is , very clean and looked after , relaxed environment , only a very short walk to the beach for the most incredible sunsets , the staff are amazing, very friendly and make you feel very welcome , I have only just returned home today and have loved my time away in Crete in the magda hotel , we stayed in the family from as there was 5 of us , very spacious and modern also very clean , the only down side to this holiday was club jumbo but not all of them , the two Italian girls were amazing and so friendly and made our experience brilliant as there were mostly French in the hotel and the others in the animation team seemed to prefer the French as not much interaction with the English , they went above and beyond for the French and at times felt excluded , if it wasn’t for the two Italian girls we really would have felt out of place , the entertainment was brilliant even tho a lot was in French , sometimes was translated into English but not always , really loved this hotel as wanted a relaxing holiday to recharge and that’s what we did , thanks so much to the magda hotel for a lovely holiday , the only suggestion I would make is to include English more but that’s only referring to the club jumbo

Brilliant hotel, great location. The hotel is very clean and tidy. All the staff really friendly and very happy to help. The bar lady was lovely and always made fantastic drinks for us! ;) Loved how quick staff would clear away plates and tidy tables. We did have a problem with our air con in our room and was quickly moved to another room. The room itself was great, we were in the 'older side' of the hotel? - but the rooms were clean and spacious - beds comfy, space to put your clothes etc, no complaints at all. Pools and hotel its self also great, 3 pools at each part of the hotel, the rooftop pool was great as it was mostly quiet. Only thing I would say is it would be nice to have music around the pool, maybe not for everyone and thats why, but sometimes when sunbathing it would have been nice to have music playing or just some kind of background noise, but thats just me. It was great when the team was doing aqua aerobics and the music was on haha. The food and drink was great. plenty to choose from, breakfast, lunch and dinner. My favourite being the desserts! The animation team were lovely, it was nice they were not too pushy for people like us that don't want to get involved ha! I would say though very focused on the french guests, but they did do evening entertainment that everyone could enjoy, it wasn't too difficult to understand. The hotel is mainly French guests, but that didn't bother us much and by the end of the week there were much more English guests. I would say this hotel is really suited for couples and couples with really young children, I wouldn't personally myself bring older children here. The area the hotel is in is good. The beach is a short walk down the road. We did a day in Heraklion which you can get a bus from the main road, which is around a 10-15 minute walk, and the drive around 20, which was okay, not much to do, but it was nice to have a day out of the hotel. There is also Gouves centre with plenty of bars and little shops. Overall we had a lovely time and i'd definitely recommend to family & friends. Thank you for a lovely holiday!
