Ourania Apartments Hotel

Stayed here with my Dad and cousin as a family holiday, apar**ents were lovely (we had 2, one for me and one for my dad and cousin). Very pretty and had everything you need and more. Kitchenette, Big bedroom, two terraces, lounge room and lovely bathroom. Rooms were cleaned daily. Facilities are prefect, lovely clean pool, snack bar with lovely food and drink, pool table and reception. Location was lovely, a 5 minute walk down a road to the beach and Gouves centre. Staff were so friendly and helpful. And prices are very good for what you get. One thing to take into consideration is that if travelling to apar**ents by coach you will be dropped off on main road and have to walk down a dirt track to the hotel, it’s not far a minute walk but if arriving at night it’s very dark obviously and hotel can be difficult to find mostly for older people (we find it fine but have heard others struggled). Was a lovely stay and would definitely return when time is right.

Pleasant apar**ent we booked a superior room, which was well worth it. Nice spacious studio apar**ent. Large fridge etc Apar**ent was very clean - nice shower with hot water all day. Basic typical Greek apar**ent but absolutely nothing wrong with it! Had a good balcony. Staff were helpful. Pool was a bit busy and very territorial but could always find sunbeds on the grass!

Lovely hotel pool lovely but sometimes you had a job getting a sun bed restaurants about ten minutes walk away breakfast at hotel was good freshly cooked from a menu we paid for bed and breakfast yes I would go again

We were back for our 5th visit in September, slight problem with our apar**ent on arrival but soon sorted by the very helpful Maria the following morning. The complex is fabulous, laid out like a pretty little village, kept spotless by the very hardworking housekeeping ladies. We had a 2 bedroom apar**ent which was also kept spotless with daily cleaning and regular towel/sheet changes. Apar**ents are basic but have all you need, we don't cook on holiday! Bar and kitchen staff were great as ever, thanks Tasos, Stella and Stavros for all the laughs. Have booked next year already, can't wait to be back.

Quality apar**ents spacious resort friendly and attentive staff peaceful and relaxing when we visited in mid October. Very high standard of cleanliness pool and communal areas always cleaned before guests wake. Well kept gardens domestic staff clean rooms daily. Went self catering but breakfasts are high standard with a great choice. Maria on reception ready to help with. Making your stay even better full of local knowledge will definitely return

We wanted a week away in the sun and the Ourania apar**ents were perfect. Quiet, clean and peaceful. Maria on reception couldn't have been kinder. We hired a car and drove 25 minutes to Heraklion most nights - a great city with easy parking down by the port. Walkable and colourful with some great restaurants (much better than those near the hotel). I can recommend one called Lola where we had the best food we've had anywhere for years. A great little holiday.

What a disappoin**ent. On arriving at the Ourania apar**ents, we made our way down the hill with our luggage very late at night. No assistance was offered by the hotel. Booking in with Marie was straight forward, although when she said "if you have any complaints, I am not part of the management". We were taken to our accommodation, which had a large balcony, the apar**ent was very dated with basic cooking facilities and utensils. When I asked if I could have a tin opener, Marie went to the kitchen to ask. A huge argument ensued, then Marie said "you can have a tin opener for 5 minutes, and if you don't bring it straight back, we will come to your apar**ent and take it". The pool was clean with plenty of sun loungers. However, throughout our stay building and drilling work was going on, at a property next to the hotel. It goes without saying, we found it impossible to relax and spent our holiday away from the hotel. Breakfast was disappointing, the standard of cooking/quality was poor and varied from day to day. The staff did not smile or interact, leaving us feeling as though we were unwelcome. Finally, the hotel is on a flight path, which meant around 6pm planes flew low and regular over our balcony. Again hardly conducive with relaxation. We would not recommend this hotel and we will NOT be returning. Sylvia Scott UK.

My wife and I (mid 30s) came here for a week and it was such a lovely place to stay. The staff were all friendly and helpful, for example the receptionist helped us to book a couple of days out and made calls in Greek for us. It felt like a quaint place to stay, like a little Greek village. It's small which means that it's not packed and there's a nice swimming pool. We paid for breakfast as part of our package and it was definitely the right choice as there were good options and it didn't set us back too much. There's also a bookshelf in the hotel packed with books to get which is always fun. The B&B is only a 5 minute walk from a few beautiful, sandy beaches. The deck chairs and umbrellas on the beach cost about €10 per day. There are plenty of shops around too. There are also plenty of restaurants to choose from in the area, ranging from small family style places to more plush ones on the seafront. We'd recommend one called Mylos which is close to the B&B. We went there twice - friendly and warm staff, big portions, low prices! On our last day or flight wasn't until the evening but the B&B staff let us leave our suitcases etc in their reception, which meant that we could go for a swim in the sea and out for lunch. There are also courtesy showers so we could get ready to travel and not worry about our stuff being damp or sandy. A COUPLE OF TIPS: Always have cash on you - some places don't take card The resort has stray cats roaming around which the staff welcome but if you're not a fan of cats, or are allergic, this is something to be aware of Take insect repellent as we got some bad bites on a couple of evenings.

Nicely laid out like a small village however like a small village that needs to be dragged io modern times. Most of the apar**ents totally lacking in coziness adding a few cushions to the basic old sofas would have it more comfortable and a vase of flowers or some colours from picture would have gone s long way . I had to ask to change my apar**ent 117 as it was dark k. there at. 2pm snd the windows didn’t do much the balcony was dark as well and not very private ad with all the balconies yhey are all overlooking one another it was noisy and intrusive even in october they could do with flowers pots or high walls to mask the sounds . quite a few people asked to change rooms in the week i was there with sand issues some rooms just had chairs top of stairs that was their balcony ! Nice pool but overcrowded and even though there were beds on the grass to many trees blocked out sun /building work Tui do not tell you about from adjoining building that went on mist mornings That along with walk to the property from the coach of at least.5mins come on Tui . good staff great service -nice bar and okay food best was the Full English at 8 euros . great little libary / not far to the tiny amount of shops and restaurants and a nice little beach .
