Hotel Kansas City, Part of Hyatt

Not the hotel's fault but construction at the entrance made finding where to park tricky. The young valet said I should walk to the adjacent parking lot in the morning and grab my car when I needed it which left me confused about needing a valet. The building is quite old but with plenty of character. The main room in the lobby is striking, especially at night. Once we got the attention of the front desk, we checked into a large room which was nicely decorated with artwork in contrast with wallpaper peeling off in the bathroom. ******* advertised this property as having room service 24/7 which was not the case unfortunately because that is the primary reason we chose this hotel. We purchased breakfast in advance and were told to place an order at the bar in the main lobby. We ordered 2 eggs a side of sausage, hash browns and bacon plus two orange juice and were told the kitchen was backed up and it would take about 20 minutes. After 35 minutes of staring at the warm orange juice provided, we checked with the bar on the status of our order. We needed to leave at a certain time and would need to cancel if not started. The staff advised us we ordered so many sides, that they were checking on the order and that the hotel normally does not get this slammed with customers. There were 5 customers that I could count in the lobby, 4 of which arrived after us. Within a few minutes the food arrived. The hotel is a historic piece of architecture but not adequately staffed

Beautiful, historic building. Lobby is gorgeous. Staff very friendly and attentive. Coffee, pastries and breakfast/lunch items to-go avail for purchase in lobby. Very convenient if you're heading to nearby convention center. Night club below and lovely but pricey restaurant. This very classy hotel has everything! Loved our stay.

We booked here for Valentine’s Day and had a great time. The hotel room was as pictures and very cute and clean. We had fun going to the lounge in the hotel. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

Beautiful hotel. Easy to access where valet is. Walkable to a lot of different restaurants and shops. Loved the little coffee shop that is there too! No options for kids food to eat dinner or lunch there but that's why it was easy to walk somewhere so we weren't too concerned about that.

Wow, this very special hotel is a precious piece of history lovingly restored by Hyatt. The exterior, lobby, and entertainment spaces all retain exquisite original architectural details in the Gothic Tudor style. Ornate wood carving, stonework, stained glass windows, and original chandeliers from the 1920’s have been restored with sensitive modern touches. The rooms are plush with modern conveniences and artful touches, like the illuminated portrait of Bertha Goodwin in the foyer of every room. The Town Company restaurant has a Michelin recognized chef, whose wife creates amazing pastries like an apricot jam sticky bun with cashew ginger brittle. Enthusiastically recommended

For the price. Not worth it! Very clean and quant. The hotel itself is beautiful and the rooms are unique and clean, however, the staff wasn’t very friendly and a lot of the amenities such as the ice machine didn’t work. Parking is terrible unless you valet which is an extra cost. Everything in this hotel is an extra cost!!

Really interesting decor. That is a mix of old world and crisp artsy modern. Great service everywhere and price was very reasonable. However, if you want food, coffee, snacks, or vallet - be ready to pay a premium.
